  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How Long have Humans Lived on Earth?

Is Scripture still inerrant according to theistic evolution?

Every time you say that, I am taken back to Starship Troopers.

    God's chosen people

Let’s assume that “Christian” refers only to those who are truly saved. First, Christians have not made themselves right with God. Jesus Christ has made them right with God by his life, death, and resurrection. Circumcision of the heart is by the Spirit (Rom 2:29; Deut 30:6), and righteousness...

    Mytho-History

There is no explicit statement in the Bible that other people existed at the time of Adam and Eve, but there is clear indirect statements and indications. For example, when Cain was banished from Eden to homeless wandering, he expressed fear: “Whoever finds me will kill me” (Gen 4:14). Notably...

Is Scripture still inerrant according to theistic evolution?

There is no conflict between punctuated equilibrium (Gould) and phyletic gradualism (Darwin). These are not mutually exclusive ideas—it's not an either/or choice. Both punctuated equilibrium and phyletic gradualism are describing the same thing, just at different scales. As observed by Kenneth...

Is Scripture still inerrant according to theistic evolution?

Huh? This statement is rhetorically suggestive but analytically underdeveloped. What are you saying, exactly?

    ICE, Killing, Justice, and Christianity

Debate rarely changes the participants’ minds, but it often changes the audience’s minds. I am interested in it for that reason.

A redemptive-historical hermeneutic really brings the Old Testament to life, including the creation account.

Which is what I said, so we are agreed:

    ICE, Killing, Justice, and Christianity

The question isn’t hard because the question is premature. Your moral conclusion assumes facts not yet demonstrated—namely, that the use of force was unjust under the relevant standards and that Pretti posed no continuing threat. Moral judgment requires truthful description, not incomplete...
