I am not sure of what religion to believe in.

There are so many religions/Gods out there, what makes you think any of them are true? Christianity makes the extraordinary claim it is the one true religion while all others are wrong. I think that is leaning a little to much towards arrogance if you ask me.

    Atheism

Jump in all you want, no problem .... :) Well, let me ask you this: Why wouldn't you want to utilize such methods in matters of relationships?

    Atheism

I'm very well aware of the fact that Condell isn't part of a religion. He's an atheist. I was just curious as to why a religious person was so impressed by a statement that criticizes religion. I'll wait and see what LLJ has to say on that. Thanks for your input.

    Atheism

Hmm, that's interesting, coming from someone who is religious or who is part of a religion. You do know who Pat Condell is do you not?

    Atheism

Perhaps you should go visit YouTube and watch some of his videos then. Here is one that basically describes religion quite well in less then 2 minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBmfmfm3eQg It's not by Pat Condell though.

    Atheism

As an atheist I try not to believe in things therefore, atheism is not a religion. Far from it. Atheism is simply looking at life from a rational and objective perspective.

    The Atheist Bible?

I think you're the one who is a piece of work. What is it goes along with intellectual honesty? You got it. Thinking. Dahh ...

    The Atheist Bible?

If it wasn't thinking that brought you to the conclusions you came to, then what was it?

    The Atheist Bible?

That's the whole point. We don't need a book to tell us to think for ourselves. It's just something that comes natural for us guys and gals who have no belief in a Deity.

    Why Do People Need God?

God only communicates with us from time to time? Well, why not all the time? I think that I can get better responses from my friends, family and fellow associates especially if there is a crisis in my life. And if God exists as you claim, then, where is the evidence for his or hers existence...

    The Atheist Bible?

I like those little sayings in fortune cookies. Here's one I saved a while back: "You must be the change you wish to see in the world"

    The Atheist Bible?

And what is it that convinced you to not believe in such ideas? Did you have to think about it to some extent? I'm sure you did. As you can see, my OP is based on a hypothetical. An atheist doesn't need a bible to tell us to "think". We just think for ourselves. And to think plays a big...

    The Atheist Bible?

If you are responding to my OP, then how am I redefining the word "think"? To think simply means to make rational decisions of a matter. To "believe" in irrational ideas isn't something motivated by thinking in an objective sense whatsoever.

    The Atheist Bible?

Ah yes, Jefferson. A great thinker is what he was indeed. Very good observation on your part. Of course there are many who fall within the ranks of fundamentalism who would accuse him of committing blasphemy for removing and changing the word of God. That's the difference between a "thinker"...
