  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Any Proof of LDS?

But that only begs the question, how do you know that it is the Holy Ghost that is talking to you? If we look at the facts, we see that the Holy Ghost is God, and God is not a man that He should lie. The testimony of the Holy Ghost must be consistant and non-contradictory. The LDS testimony...

    Indulgences?

That is what I have a question on. An indulgence cannot be applied to another living person, but may be applied to a soul in purgatory. Why is that?

    Question on Jurisdiction

I belonged to the Diocese of Pittsburgh and my wife was from Wilkes-Barre, 300 miles away, but we both went to school in Pittsburgh and belonged to the Diocese. We had no problem and did not need a dispensation for us to be married in my wife's home town:)

What Does Mary Add To Christianity

Translate Kecharitomene, it is used in reference to only one person, Mary. You attempt to take away the honor that others give to her, I'd say it does apply to you It is you that I think is blind. You do not know what the Catholic doctrinal position is, and yet you call us blind...

    Tradition?

What Does Mary Add To Christianity

Reformationist, you seem to be making a flaw in logic. Mary does not deserve admiration for what she did, she is to be admired for who she IS. She is the kecharitomene , meaning full of grace, as a rough translation. Full as in so much that she could not receive any more. We admire God's...

    Please help

Hi Swoosh: I really feel for you man. The exact same thing happened to me, and I suspect a lot of guys. We will all let you know that it does get better. Sometimes it takes a lot of time. I felt better after a few months, but it took me over 20yrs to finally learn why it happened. I wish...

I had a thought the other day in Adoration...

That is true, but those that go AWOL, give up the fight. Marines and soldiers that die fighting, can never share in the victory, but all christians that give their life in service to God, and hold fast to the end, will share in the victory that is won, by our God and Savior, Jesus Christ I...

I had a thought the other day in Adoration...

It is profound. A very good analogy. But unlike marines or soldiers, all of us will be able to share in the ultimate victory:) Cast all of your cares on Him, because He cares for you. Every hair on your head has been counted. God knows who you are. Thanks for sharing your thoughts...

    On the wearing of Scapulars

Does anyone wear a Brown or Green Scapular? Are the promises associated with the use of scapulars still valid today, or is that part of pre- Vatican II Catholicism. I ask because my priest told me that the use of indulgences has changed today. Anyone know anything about this? I am...

    Outside the church, No salvation

My point was not to talk about who is saved and who is not. Sorry if I gave you that impression. My point was that the Magisterium has stated in Vatican II, as well as Pope Pius IX in 1863, that we do not know who is not going to be saved. That is for God to decide. I just found it ironic...

    Outside the church, No salvation

Hey guys, I came across this article on the Doctrine of Outside the Church, No Salvation, and it really intrigued me. The last line especially, in that it says that those, like Feeneyites, that are most radical about this point, are actually opposed to the Magisterium, and ironically place...
