  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Creation Model, the Evolution Model, and the Evidence

The reason creatures are not distributed uniformly is that, if you think carefully of how the flood would have played out, different creatures belong in different habitats. "There is also the question of how bacteria biopolymers can remain intact over millions of years in dormant bacteria; or...

The Creation Model, the Evolution Model, and the Evidence

Source for bacteria: Raúl J. Cano and Monica K. Borucki, "Revival and Identification of Bacterial Spores in 25- to 40-Million-Year-Old Dominican Amber," Science, vol. 268, 19 May 1995, pp. 1060-1064 Polystrate trees are not as exceedingly rare as might be thought. There are numbers of them in...

The Creation Model, the Evolution Model, and the Evidence

Does the evidence fit better with the creation model (creation occured in six 24-hour Earth days approximately 6000 years ago, and geologic features and fossils are primarily a result of a worldwide hydrologic cataclysm [Noah's Flood]) or the evolution model (the earth is approximately 4.5...

Evolution is very obvious that is not true at all

I've heard similar assertions to Teilhard de Chardin's from a number of evolutionists. All right, I suppose I'll start a new thread now. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Evolution is very obvious that is not true at all

Remember that the quote from Pierre Teilhard de Chardin is quoted in the Jounral of Heredity, but this is not the origin of the statement. There is a great deal of evidence against the evolutionary/old-earth view of history. There are many things which this view is incapable of explaining...

Evolution is very obvious that is not true at all

Darwin likely inserted that statement referring to a Creator in order to gain support from the clergy (which he most certainly got, unfortunately). "[Evolution] is a general postulate to which all theories, all hypotheses, all systems must henceforward bow and which they must satisfy in order...

Evolution is very obvious that is not true at all

Unfortunately, as I was typing a post a few days ago, my computer shut down and I lost it. Included in these were several quotes from Darwin demonstrating that he certainly was not a Christian. I don't know of any Christian who would refer to the New Testament as "a d***able doctrine," as he...

Evolution is very obvious that is not true at all

    1) It is abundantly clear from reading Darwin's writings that he was overtly athiestic, while Pasteur's writings reveal a clear, actual belief in a Creator. 2) At least a number of these sites listed below should have relevance: www.science.siu.edu/zoology/king/304/biogrphy.htm...

Evolution is very obvious that is not true at all

To RoboMastodon (in post #288): Perhaps my area is a bit of a messed-up sample group, but the reason there was nothing below 100 is that the IQ test was only administered to the two most advanced science classes in that grade. The individual with the 171 used to take IQ tests in his spare time...

Evolution is very obvious that is not true at all

"Thank you" for ignoring essentially everything I mentioned in my last couple posts. Of course, a number of famous scientists from the past (not all before Darwin published The Origin of Species, either) were creationists (let's see, I think there may have been Gregor Mendel, Louis Pasteur...

Evolution is very obvious that is not true at all

I checked out the survey, and I found it disappointing that it only went up to an IQ of 132. The lowest IQ in the truly outspoken creationist group at my school registered a 135! We also had some in the 140s, one in the 150s (a 152 or 158, I think), and one 171. In fact, the lowest IQ in the...

Evolution is very obvious that is not true at all

GarfieldGundam: Funny, there was an IQ test at my school last year (or was it two years ago? Well, the year prior to the school year that preceded this particular summer), and the most outspoken creationists had rather high IQs. In fact, the advanced classes are pretty much exclusively made up...

Evolution is very obvious that is not true at all

I'm thinking my problem with Avida is that I just can't locate the proper method to run .zip files. I don't know about Avida showing that IC systems can arise without ID, though... Maybe, with luck, lucaspa or Jet Black will return with a few examples of how biological IC systems can be...

Evolution is very obvious that is not true at all

Well, I downloaded Avida (can't figure out how to run it on my computer [I believe the exact model is the Compaq Piece-of-Useless-Hardware-Less-Capable-Than-a-Not-Particularly-Functional-Etch-a-Sketch 300... lol...], though). Judging from the descriptions on the site, it sounds like it's...

Evolution is very obvious that is not true at all

Thanks for the name of the program, I'll try looking it up and maybe download it or something. Most of the simulations I know of are basically just attempts to get the computer to spell out a word or phrase, and they aren't very applicable to the real issue at hand at all, ignoring a great...
