  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why do we do things not written in the Bible?

God pointedly changes the names of the men he chooses to be the preeminent spiritual leaders of his people. Abram to Abraham Genesis 17:5 Jacob to Israel Genesis 32:28 Simon to Cephas/Peter Matthew 16:17-19 "Roman Catholic" is not legally correct. The official name is "Catholic Church."...

Acts, the Mikveh & the Blood: How the Bible Defines Remission

Actually, the post-biblical writers learned the faith from the faithful men who taught them. Those faithful men learned it from the faithful men who learned it from the faithful men who came before them, all the way back to the apostles who were taught by Jesus Christ. Until the printing press...

Acts, the Mikveh & the Blood: How the Bible Defines Remission

Yes, Jesus fulfilled all the Mosaic laws perfectly. By fulfilling them, he finished the covenant. He ended it and ratified it by his sacrificial death on the cross. The Mosaic Ten Commandments were tailored to fit the era that the early Israelites lived in. They had a proclivity towards...

Acts, the Mikveh & the Blood: How the Bible Defines Remission

[Early Christian writers consistently taught that baptism forgives sins, viewing it not merely as a symbolic act but as a sacramental means of grace through which sins are removed. Irenaeus (c. 120–202) wrote that baptism cleanses believers from their old transgressions, making them...

Acts, the Mikveh & the Blood: How the Bible Defines Remission

Ephesians 1:13 and 2 Corinthians 1:22 refer to the baptism commanded by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:15-16. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of...

Why do we do things not written in the Bible?

Obviously, you do not understand that when there is a change in the Levitical priesthood with its Sabbaths for the Israelites only to the Melchizedekian priesthood of Jesus Christ for all people who have faith, regardless of nationality, the public worship day must also change. This changing of...

Acts, the Mikveh & the Blood: How the Bible Defines Remission

The righteous people who were in Abraham's bosom were under the Law of Moses when they lived on earth, and so when they died, they were judged according to their obedience to those laws in the Law of Moses. Jesus' new covenant laws are different than the first covenant laws in the Law of Moses...

Acts, the Mikveh & the Blood: How the Bible Defines Remission

1 Corinthians 1:11-15 My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. 12 What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.” 13 Is Christ...

Acts, the Mikveh & the Blood: How the Bible Defines Remission

According to Jesus Christ, it is. Just as Jesus used his saliva as a conduit to heal the deaf and mostly mute man (Mark 7:32-34) and also to heal the blind man (Mark 8:22-25), Jesus uses the water of baptism as a conduit to wash away Adam's sin and all personal sins from a person's soul at the...

The Truth About Invincible Ignorance Ultimately, only God knows who is truly invincibly ignorant

Also, it is true that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through him. John 14:6 Every person who has ever lived is judged by Jesus Christ when he dies. Jesus Christ is the only gateway into heaven and access to his Father. Whether a person is...

I Don’t Know What to Make of This: Syncretism Run Amuck

Smudging is ridiculous. We have true incense from the Middle East.. Exodus 30:7, Luke 1:9-11, Revelation 8:4 [The incense used in Catholic churches is primarily made from natural resins and aromatic ingredients, with frankincense and myrrh being the most common components. These resins are...

Men listening to women teach the Bible!

If it is not during the Sunday worship service, it is okay. My opinion. I like to hear different perspectives on Scripture passages.

The Sabbath, Worship and the End Time

It is a historical fact that the apostles and all the Early Christians worshiped God on Sundays. Jesus Christ taught them to do this. The Early Christians called Sunday the Lord’s Day. Revelation 1:10 Here are excerpts from two of these Early Christian writings: The Didache, The Teachings of...

Why do we do things not written in the Bible?

Constantine may have made Sunday observance an empire-wide law for the whole Roman Empire during his tenure in the 300s AD; however, we have historical writings that prove that Sunday, the Lord's Day, was observed as the public worship day by all Christian believers since Jesus rose from the...

Why do we do things not written in the Bible?

You keep ignoring the historical facts that Jesus commanded the Christians to publicly worship God on Sundays, called the Lord's Day. So, now you post another Scripture passage which you think supports your belief in Saturday Sabbath worship. It does not support your belief. Paul is telling...
