  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Heterosexual Agenda (aka the Straight is Great Agenda)

I think the idea of a 'homosexual agenda' is absolutely ridiculous. The 'heterosexual agenda' has so much more power and has had so much more power throughout history. Gays overall are far too disenfranchised to possibly have enough power to propogate a movement with enough influence to be...

More examples. This is hardly the stuff of solid arguments, Zaac. We are arguing WHAT the Holy God says. In case you haven't noticed in your 6000 posts, what the bible says differs from person to person as it is us, mortal, finite human beings prone to err who have to understand the meaning...

This may be the case HM, but that doesn't mean that it is referring to homosexuality specifically as the cause of the fall and the abandonment of Christ. Since the 'base sin' mentioned is idoltry, igorance of God and the pride that comes along with it, it could simply be stating, 'all of this...

Zaac. I think a massive area of contention to almost all of your posts is that you often confuse what you believe the bible to say with what the bible actually says. I certainly hold no claim to knowing what the bible says, I also have no illusion of this fact. You often use objective claims...

What are these unforgivable sins? The second part is obvious and a homosexual can do this. Maybe, maybe not. I think this is definitely open to interpretation. I know of at least passage that defends what you say, but I'm sure you can agree that it's not that clear in other parts of the NT...

My point was that they do not choose to be homosexuals, they choose to act upon their nature. That is their choice, the same choice we make with the opposite sex. The only difference is that their choice is with the same sex. It is the same choice in that they are acting on their godgiven...

    Prop 8 supporters claim victory

I'm actually going to challenge this. So far everyone has ignored my arguments which is typical of a debate forum but I'm going to challenge you on this one. I can get into the problem of evil on this one, but I'll debate it like this on two questions: 1) What will God do to homosexuals? 2) Do...

    Gay 'marriage'

I don't think you're going to find any place in the bible supporting gay marriage. I think it was largely a non-issue back then. Social issues have changed a little bit over time. Even if God was for it (which is highly unlikely based off of scripture), I doubt it would be in the bible. I...

    Gay 'marriage'

What basis are you using to come to this definition of humanities' purpose? It's certainly not the bible you're using, which is fine but it's not the purpose of humanity, it's your opinion on the purpose of humanity. I have an opinion too that's very different from yours and could likely find...

This is not to outright deny what you say but I do slightly disagree with this statement based on my own experience with homosexuals and their culture. While sexuality as a theme is generally more prevailant in gay culture, homoesexuals are generally less openly sexual, even if they're fully...

I challenge you to read the word of God and defend against an issue such as beating your slaves, justification for murdering heathens, gathering sticks on Saturday, stealing young teenage virgins for yourself after pillaging a nation and the morality of selling your clothes to purchase a sword...

    Is health care a right?

That doesn't make any sense. I work for a large Canadian corporation. We are not paid for performance as the wage increases are fixed, as is the norm in the corporate workplace. It is rightly considered immoral to do otherwise as performance in most workplaces is a subjective concept. What is...

    Prop 8 supporters claim victory

Perhaps I'm just being the ignorant liberal Canadian but why can't we let ministers do what they will? If a Christian minister decides that this is the moral thing to do in front of God then that's a risk they are taking. Otherwise, as is generally the case in Canada, non-Christian ministers...

    Is health care a right?

Every country in the world aside from maybe Cuba and North Korea function off a free-market system in some significant way. America just chooses do it in almost every way possible, even when it benefits no one but shareholders. America has indeed built its own grave as a nation but the...

    Is health care a right?

That doesn't make any sense. Why would a doctor try less because he is in a different country? That doesn't make any sense. People save life to the best of their abilities because they are good people, not because they live in a specific country. I don't think, 'I live in Canada and work for the...
