  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

London Mayor Sadiq Khan calls for knife control

Do you support the proposal or not? You have been defending it for four pages of discussion, so it seems you do. I don’t have to be on your side of the pond to know what happened with gun control there and see that knife control is being pushed the same way, and if the GP was so comfortable with...

London Mayor Sadiq Khan calls for knife control

    (1) your claims about large chef’s knives doesn’t stand up to the tweet that started this discussion. (2) Chef’s knives are the most versatile and useful blades made for anyone who cooks. If you don’t feel they are needed, you clearly don’t cook in any significant quantity or quality. (3) let’s...

Is there a difference between soul and spirit?

Or, he was simply troubled in both. I don’t see this as interchangeability between soul and spirit, but rather, simple affirmation that both are needed for the body to be alive. Hebrews 4:12 would seem to indicate that soul and spirit are indeed separate, but very sophisticatedly linked...

    But We Abort Them

This is curious...if a baby is non-viable, they usually don’t make it to full term. Removing a baby dead in the womb is not the same as an abortion. This is so rare a case as to be laughable as a reason for supporting abortion.

    But We Abort Them

I see precious few (if any) justifications for abortion at any term. Frankly, though, discussion on when abortions are performed has always felt like a distraction from the real issue, is it a human life or not? If so, it ought to have the chance to live. Late term abortion is horrible and...

    But We Abort Them

A quick review of the laws indicate this to be a state by state matter and it does not necessarily agree with your claims.

    But We Abort Them

This is a complete dodge of the question. I am happy to share my views, but you made a declarative statement that fetus’ are not children. I simply asked what you base that on. Since you stated it as factual, surely you have some proof, or at least some evidence that you believe amounts to proof...

    But We Abort Them

On what do you base this? Do you have a Biblical, moral or scientific foundation for this claim?

    But We Abort Them

My question was directed at SkyWriting. Sorry for the confusion.

    But We Abort Them

Not to me. Could you please clarify in clear terms what your position on abortion is? It would allow others to have a meaningful discussion with you without having to make assumptions.

    But We Abort Them

I have heard this argument from the pro-choice side for years now. “If you don’t adopt, you can’t say abortion is wrong”. It sounds good at first, until you realize that the proposed alternative is to snuff out a baby’s life for the sake of convenience.

Donald Trump's questionable claim that Electoral College favors the Democrats

You want to make it more representative, or just more favorable to Democrats? If you truly want it more representative, what changes would you make. He was elected president, thus he is, in a sense, the American people’s choice. Had Hillary won by electoral vote, the same would be said of her...

Donald Trump's questionable claim that Electoral College favors the Democrats

Early in his campaign Trump argued for removal of the electoral college. Hillary and the left largely criticized him and his “crazy” views on the integrity of the election process. Ironic in hindsight for both candidates I imagine. Myself, I still believe the electoral college is important for...

    Problem with Election

Agreed, all of God’s attributes are indivisible. That said, issues arise in theologies that place greater emphasis on one over the others. I see this in Calvinists and Arminians. Calvinists place special importance on sovereignty, and Armenians place special importance on justice. Actually...

    Problem with Election

Saying this doesn’t make it true. Calvinism is based on the foundation that, above all else, God’s defining attribute is His sovereignty over everything that happens. The U and the I in TULIP directly contradict what you said: U is unconditional election, which means the elect are chosen...
