  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Indentured Servant

I began my journey with God in 1987 while sailing on a large, gray, floating airport in the middle of the ocean. I've accomplished many things since, but I'm most happy with my current success of becoming not-so-important to this world.

I've studied scripture with exponential interest for 38 years. I now enjoy large amounts of Scripture daily, and often translate from the original languages, and have even translated from images of the DSS.

I am sometimes asked to explain why I don't like to use doctrinal terms and labels for everything in Scripture... I just simply don't like to be identified as belonging to any denomination, doctrine, or dogma. I belong only to God, answer only to Him.

I enjoy discussing Scripture; however, I prefer not to engage in the popular doctrine-over-Scripture debates. I hope that if I make a comment regarding scripture, it be treated as a contribution to the topic, or simply ignored.
