  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Monergist or Synergist?

I would be a monergist. People come to faith on no part of their own whether it be the conditions that surround them or the opportunities given to them.

    Why was the cross necessary?

The cross had 2 achievements. First the forgiveness of all who believe and second the placement of all things under Christ. The choice of the cross was symbolic as it is written that all who was hung a pole were cursed, and thus Jesus became a curse for us. This atonement however was decided on...

    Blameless in the Law

Well as Christians we are called to live holy lives. However we are still able to sin and transgress God’s Laws. What guides us is not ourselves but the Holy Spirit. This process of sanctification is not instantaneous so a Christian will not be perfect upon salvation.

The common sense of God and theology.

I think theology expounds on the other point-Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind.

What was Jesus saying when He said "you must be born again"

That’s completely false. The thief was saved by faith. Under the Law he would be punished for there is no forgiveness of willful sins. What occurs when someone broke the Law given to Moses willingly was the death penalty. The covenant of grace, if you’ve read into covenant theology, started...

What was Jesus saying when He said "you must be born again"

Being born again is the first step of being a Christian. It’s the regeneration that God acts in you so that you will repent of your sins and believe. It’s a changing of the heart and mind, and afterwards the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. You once were dead in your sins, but now you are alive in...

    I can't do this anymore

Do you have faith in Christ? Have you been born again and have the Holy Spirit living in you? If not there is no way for you to save yourself. Repent and believe! For there is only one salvation and that is of Christ. Believe In Jesus and his finished work on the cross! Godly sorrow brings...

    Moses in Garden

The verses in 1 Peter don’t specifically say that the gospel was preached to dead people they say that Jesus made a proclamation-not necessarily the gospel (1 Peter 3:19) and that the gospel was preached to people that are now dead (1 Peter 4:6) as in they heard the gospel when they were alive...

Fellow Christians how can I stop being so guilty and shameful for my autism

If you are disabled there is no shame in receiving help. The kingdom of God is open to all. Blessed are the poor in spirit for they will inherit the kingdom of God. Whatever anyone has is given to them by God. He is the sole provider for all men. If you cannot work because of your disability...

Lately I think the bible isn't so important.

I don’t think that not reading the Bible is necessarily an error but I do doubt that complete understanding is gained when you’ve read the entirety of the bible. It’s good to continually spend time in the word and see if you can learn something new. There are a lot of Christians who stray from...

    Hell question

Do you understand how we are all guilty of the Original Sin that Adam committed? As a perfect representative for all humans ever to be born he sinned and thus sin entered the world. All humans thereafter are corrupted and do not belong in a paradise created by God. Why then does God continue to...

Shades of Calvinism vs. the Gospel

I don’t even want to argue with that mess of exegesis. If you think that parables are literal but then switch into allegory at your whim you are mistaken.

Shades of Calvinism vs. the Gospel

No they is referring to seeds. There aren’t people standing on rocks and on good soil. People are clearly separated into different categories of souls. Even if it is a parable you cannot ignore that.

Shades of Calvinism vs. the Gospel

You aren’t the seed you’re the soil. How can rock change into thorns into good soil?

Shades of Calvinism vs. the Gospel

If you’re referring to Luke 8 and how a believer can stop believing it’s a pretty definite case for Calvinism. Can you control whether you are good soil or among thorns? Jesus was referring to how the knowledge of what he was preaching could change a person. If they were rocky ground they do...
