  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Advice Requested

All, Thank you for the replies. I don't see the issue as hindering my job performance in the future. Perfectionism is probably the tendency here. Does anyone have stress reactions like this? In the past when I was stressed, I'd have physical manifestations and just go hit the track. Never has...

It involved past medical history disclosure. I found out after the fact that something I hid could have prevented me from getting the job.

    Advice Requested

Hello, This is a little long, but I'd like some feedback from the community. (You guys are all awesome, btw.) About a year ago, I told some "white lies" on an application for my current employment. I did this against conscience at the urging of my parents (both Christians, who led me...

Military? can i still be a christian?

I've thought about this too... as I'm attempting to join the US Navy. There were a surprising number of Roman soldiers mentioned in the New Testament, and the Bible often had high praise for those particular individuals. I think that this illustrates that Christians can be in the military and...

A Christian Response to Med School Interviews

Thanks for this. I do believe that abortion is murder, and if I become a doctor, I am responsible for all my patients. (Even the ones that can't be seen ;).) I have just resolved that if the question is asked, I will emphasize that the baby is my patient as well. I have difficulty seeing them...

A Christian Response to Med School Interviews

This is my first post, so if I have posted in the wrong location, an apology in advance to the moderators. I am a pre-med student starting to apply for med schools. The final stage of getting into med school is the dreaded interview by the admissions board. I know that at least some of the...

    Ever get touched?

It's amazing how powerful music can be. For me, it was Arvo Part's "Te Deum" and "Tabula Rasa". Amazing stuff, I think.
