  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How to Respond to False Doctrine

I know the mods are saying just ignore the thread. Well, that is Biblically wrong. Do you know the story of Jezebel, Ahab, and Elijah? Jezebel had a wicked agenda, and she even operated under the title: "Minister." Ahab was passive and allowed Jezebel to do what ever she wanted. On top of...

Classic Pumps High Heels and Going Bare Legged

Okay, I was raised in a very strict church that believed in standards. 1. No classic pumps. 2. If you came to church without wearing hose (going bare-legged), you were going to hell. Yet, when a girl wears classic pumps (pointed-toe, stiletto heels) and goes bare-legged without hose, they...

Contemporary Worship without any liturgy or lots of structure

How many United Methodist Churches (UMCs) have a contemporary worship service, without liturgy, without following a big structured bulletin, or have no bulletin at all? How many UMCs have just praise music, prayer time, sermon, and response, without any printed structure? How do you handle a...

How do Methodists differ from Baptists?

In the overall 'big picture' of what God does - is saved, being saved, going to be saved - it is a process. Conversion being a changed behavior. That has to happen over time in a process. In the context of (becoming a Christian), the Biblical fact that 'justification' is often an...

How do Methodists differ from Baptists?

I was also a PRIOR Baptist for 20-years, mainly Fundamental Baptist; > then Oneness Pentecostal for 9-years; > now, United Methodist. I will tell you what the similiarities are, and I will disspell mis-conceptions that I had towards Methodists while I was a Baptist, then mainly underline the...

In the Eastern Orthodox Church, what is required for conversion?

Yes - you have to "trust" God in what he said he was/is/is going to do. It is not enough just to validate the propositions, but it must come from the heart.

For Roman Catholics, What is required for conversion?

To clarify - the question was what is required "to BECOME" a Christian not "live as" a Christian? What is required "to BECOME" [start] a Christian? Thank You, Greg

For Roman Catholics, What is required for conversion?

Alright - I've noticed some teaching from the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) that someone does not have "remission of sins" unless baptized. Even with confession of faith, no remission of sins until the time of water baptism, and that the only "manner" for "remission of sins" is water baptism. -Do...

    Instantaneous Conversion by Faith Alone

I took one of these online quizzes: What denomination are you? The result was: I came out Methodist. A question on salvation had 3 choices: A. Faith [only] B. Faith and the essentiality of water baptism C. Faith, water baptism, and good works of piety I chose: A - Faith [only] -...

    Do Hypocrites Make Good Mentors?

Technically - No, they do not. If you are objective, a hypocrite can be a mentor to teach you what not to do. You need to be objective as you observe the behavior. Just remember what they did, and then do the exact opposite. You will be fine! My advice - you can learn what not to do from...
