  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Protecting family from internet porn

This is a major development in filtering obscene and hostile-malicious code infecting websites on the internet. As any christian knows very well, internet porn is a huge problem. We try to protect ourselves and especially our children from exposure to it. Some have become addicted to it and...

    Literal or not?

The New King James version stays with the original texts better than the NLT...it is good to have more than one translation. (Personally I only read the originals.) Reading a chapter a day from Proverbs is very good...there's 31. So whatever day of the month it is...read that chapter. I...

    Wow!

Unfortunately, the word church is not found in the original texts. The etymology of the word church has no real correspondence to the Greek word ekklasia that in our English translations replaces the original term. O.E. cirice "church," from W.Gmc. *kirika, from Gk. kyriake (oikia) "Lord's...

    Trinity?

Here is something rather interesting that I ran across in the Hebrew OT The first three letters of Torah, as written in Hebrew and translated as create, are BEIT-RESH-ALEF which stand for BEN, RUACH and ABBA, and translate into Son, Spirit and Father. As I always say, the NT is hidden within...

    KJV Only?

In interesting footnote to controversies over translations is that most of the debate is about the original texts used to translate the different versions. The vast majority of Greek texts agree with each other 99% of the time, with a few variations in the wording in that 1% that they don't...

What is the GOSPEL in 60 seconds or less?

Why not just go with the real thing...the original sermon in less than 60 seconds. I find that it is just as effective now as it was then. Get a stop watch and read the bold text below. How long does it take? This is easily brought into a modern context by the change of just a few words...you...

    KJV Only?

I've been studying the original languages the Bible was written in since 1974, and have switched to reading fascimilies of the original manuscripts as my bible study...only referring to English translations when needing to communicate with others who don't know the original languages. None of...

God is going to use the KJV in heaven!!!

I've been studying the original languages the Bible was written in since 1974, and have switched to reading fascimilies of the original manuscripts as my bible study...only referring to English translations when needing to communicate with others who don't know the original languages. The...

Parables and Allegories - Fact or Fiction?

The Parables of Jesus used the factual reality of common things in life to illustrate profound spiritual factual realities. The Parable of the Sower and Tares, for example, uses the reality of mundane farming tasks to illustrate the spiritual reality of the quality of people's hearts. In the...

    Flush the Holy books?

You reap what you sow...if someone tries flushing an actual Bible down the toilet, they will flood the room and maybe cause a lot of water damage and a big mess.

    Literal or not?

Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth = Bible...manual of living. The Bible is a record of God's dealings with mankind in His efforts to provide a way back to Him. Like reading this post, that is how you should read the Bible. For the most part it means exactly what it says. There are only...

The Fall of Adam - Change of Status

There is a huge difference in the status of a sinner and that of a christian. Christians are restored to the place that Adam and Eve held in relationship to God in the Garden of Eden prior to their fall. Adam and Eve knew God as "Abba". When God created them, they were materially a lower...

    Question Bombardment

Jesus only built one church...the rest are counterfeits. We'' first look at two of the parables of Jesus. Parable are analogies, word-pictures, that take mundane things of life to illustrate profound spiritual truths. The scriptures, the word of God, are the SEED of the kingdom...and what...

    Question Bombardment

The origin of the word pagan is Latin, meaning a country dweller. Holidays are a matter of the culture of a society, and there are many around the world. Romans chapter 14 covers the details.
