  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

AI understands the Sabbath and Col 2:16

Brother, I have pointed out your error in using the word "rest" figuratively, referring to Jesus as Lord or to the Promised Land, when a literal interpretation of "rest" as the Sabbath is defensible. To demonstrate your error, I asked ChatGPT: "When both are possible, which is correct: a literal...

AI understands the Sabbath and Col 2:16

Brother, I agree with you that I wouldn't believe it because your interpretation is figurative, referring to "rest" as Jesus, and mine is literal, referring to "rest" as the Sabbath. To show you the difference, I asked ChatGPT: "When both are possible, which is correct: a literal or figurative...

AI understands the Sabbath and Col 2:16

Brother, what if Jesus in the New Testament wants us to correct something we're doing wrong? Now if Joshua had succeeded in giving them this rest, God would not have spoken about another day of rest still to come. (Hebrews 4:8 NLT) It is here, in the context where the language used by God...

AI understands the Sabbath and Col 2:16

Sister, everyone overlooks the ending of the creation week days as clearly ending in a "morning" by reading it with a bias toward beginnings rather than endings. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the...

AI understands the Sabbath and Col 2:16

Brother, happy Sabbath! It begins this Friday, October 24, 2025, at 10:57 a.m. EDT. I'm not the only one who understands that the Leviticus passage that says the day ends in the "morning" differs from Jewish tradition since Joshua about when the day begins, as revealed in the following passage...

AI understands the Sabbath and Col 2:16

Brother, the Sabbath in Jerusalem falls from evening to evening, but that is half a day before the seventh day of the week. God used this fact to prevent Israel, by means of an "oath", from entering the Sabbath, forcing them to keep the true seventh day of the week for the 40 years with manna...

AI understands the Sabbath and Col 2:16

Brother, all the biblical evidence shows that the days of the week begin in the morning and not in the evening, like the Sabbath falls in Jerusalem. Here is another passage from a non-Sabbath day of the week showing that what God called "day" precedes what God called "night" on a weekday, where...

AI understands the Sabbath and Col 2:16

Brother, it is a fact, as shown in the following passage, where they are given two portions of manna the day before, because there will be no manna tomorrow. On the sixth day, they gathered twice as much as usual—four quarts for each person instead of two. Then all the leaders of the community...

Jesus claimed He came to fulfill the Law, Did He?

Sister, our prophetess Ellen G. White prepared our church for the following truth about the Sabbath in Hebrews chapter 4. Her inspiration coincides with Paul's correction of the Sabbath in the letter to the Hebrews about another "day" of rest, without her or the church understanding her message...

Jesus claimed He came to fulfill the Law, Did He?

Brother, that's a different use of the word rest than the one used in the following message. The rest used in this message was established before sin took hold of this world, on "the seventh day" of creation. God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that...

Jesus claimed He came to fulfill the Law, Did He?

Brother, that understanding comes from the message by the KJV against the context by inserting Jesus before David in Hebrews chapter 4. Fortunately, they left evidence of how they twisted the message. The KJV inserted Jesus before David to twist the message against context to claim we have...

Jesus claimed He came to fulfill the Law, Did He?

Brothers and Sisters, happy Sabbath! It began this Friday, July 18, 2025, at 12:44 p.m. EDT. The Saturday tradition of Judaism since Joshua is as flawed as the popular human Sunday tradition. Joshua got the days of the week wrong because of the earlier Sabbath, prior to the seventh day of the...

Did the early church worship on Sabbath?

Brother, it was recognized, not established. It already existed before the British tried to steal the spotlight on the dateline of God's prime meridian that came from the beginning. The British managed to shift the dateline slightly because few people live nearby, to protest the change in the...

Did the early church worship on Sabbath?

Brother, happy Sabbath! It begins this Friday, May 2, 2025, at 12:48 p.m. EDT. The International Dateline is the oldest tradition known to mankind, started by God with Adam and Eve. God taught them to count the days of the week to remember the Sabbath. Judaism rejects the location of the...

    What is Christ's rest?

Brother, no, I don't claim to know the mind of God. I'm referring to the importance of that part in the context of Paul replacing the "letters etched in stone" with Jesus as the Spirit, and I'm not speaking about the purpose of that part outside of this context. You seem reluctant to separate...
