  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Harry Reid: "Today is a big day in America, only 36,000 people lost their jobs"

This was another example of how most people have their heads firmly in the sand. Losing 36K jobs last month which was more than the previous month was viewwed as a BIG PLUS by the FED manipulated stock market which went up over 100 points! This madness must end soon and we will come to the...

Obama, you finally made me sick

Republicans have been deriding the Supreme Court justices for years, particularly the moderate ones (haven't been any truly liberal ones in a long time) because of their refusal to overturn Roe v Wade, a decision which was handed down by a Republican court in the first place. The court just...

This might be the best fifteen minues of Glenn Beck ever

Barely. In 1996, while working for a New Haven -area radio station, Beck was admitted to Yale University through a special program for non-traditional students. Beck took one theology class, "Early Christology," and then dropped out. In other words, he got into Yale through a loop hole...

Bin Laden deplores climate change, cites Noam Chomsky

In all likelihood, bin Laden died within a year after 9/11. Ever notice how the "bin Ladens in the videos didn't look alike. Or how they violated strict Muslim beliefs against cutting your beard or wearing jewelry? Bin Laden isn't even charged with a 9/11 related crime on the FBI web...

    CNN: Americans 'divided'...

This is what happens to the incumbent party in a severe recession/depression even though it was caused by the failed policies of the previous administration (e.g. George the worst president in American history Bush).

    Dems Plan; Split GOP,Tea Party

Ridiculous. The Democratic party is rather diverse. Should I say that Republican=Sarah Palin? Maybe so. She fits quite well with their new star Brown, the new Senator from MA who posed nude for Cosmopolitan. Family values? Just another Repo campaign trick.

    Brown's effect on market.

What we're really experiencing is the start of the double dip recession. Have you noticed how the news media have been trying desperately to put a good face on the current economic environment? In reality we're still in dire straits. Other countries, notably Italy and Greece, are in much...

    is enjoying war bad?

I agree with the bottom line from the movie "War Games" from the early '80s. Talking about global nuclear war the computer decided that it is a strange game. The only way to win is not to play. Jesus expressed the same perspective when He commanded us to love our enemies.
