  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Charismatic Christians

He may not be lying, but he may not be telling the truth, either. The brain is capable of some very strange stuff. He might be experiencing these things in his own mind, which makes it real to him. I do believe in the supernatural, but I'm very very very very skeptical of people who claim to...

    Charismatic Christians

I'm pretty sure Benny Hinn was convicted of fraud during his ministry, and he may have a warrant in one state. Man of God he is not. He's just in it for the money. I would not say that all Charismatic Christians are bad, but I definitely have some problems with the way they do things.

    Stockholm Syndrome and religion

There is some surface-level similarity, but the comparison is based on the assumption that there is an abuser. Has God abused me? I didn't say that God will make bad things happen to me if I deserve it. Although He may as an act of discipline, which is for the purpose of growth, not just to...

    Stockholm Syndrome and religion

I won't deny that there are some people on this site, not naming names, who are rather rude. I've been on the receiving end of that too. But are you sure these people were Christians or seeking in the first place? If they were completely new members and made their conversions quite suddenly...

    Stockholm Syndrome and religion

Actually, my faith in God makes me feel very secure. Without Him, I'm not just at the mercy of His wrath, I'm also at the mercy of fate. I trust that He is always watching me and protecting me. If He ever allows anything unpleasant to come my way, it's for a good reason. It's kind of like...

    Stockholm Syndrome and religion

Stockholm Syndrome is when someone holds you captive against your will, and abuses you, and over time your mind protects you from the pain by creating acceptance for the person victimizing you. God doesn't hold me captive. He doesn't abuse me. In fact, the Bible promises that "All things work...

    Stockholm Syndrome and religion

There is a forum on this site for open debate. You can speak freely to us "delicate" people there. But this forum has a specific purpose, and you are expected to respect that. You know what "respect" means, don't you? You come to our house, you follow our rules. Many new people make the...

    Living a lie.. hell?

Hello, astray, and welcome to the forums. First, I just want to point out the problem with the question, "Will I go to Hell for _____?" God doesn't send people to Hell for being gay, for stealing, for murdering, or anything. There's a laundry list of things we've done wrong, and God being our...

@renew70 - Not that I think you care about the rules here, but you are not allowed to reply in a topic you did not start yourself. This is not a debate forum, it's an Exploring Christianity forum. Meaning you ask questions for Christians to answer. Kindly keep the slandering to your own threads...

Which church is most correct in everything?

I've had experiences with United Pentecostal, Lutheran, non-denominational, and Southern Baptist churches. Out of these, I'd say that the Baptists are definitely the closest to teaching the Bible accurately. There are still a few things I disagree with them with, though. I recommend you try...

How is Christianity true while Islam is false?

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that stuff with Ishmael. That's just weird. So Abraham's promised decedents came from his servant woman he slept with out of desperation, not the wife who was miraculously impregnated at an old age.

How is Christianity true while Islam is false?

It's my understanding that the Muslims believe in the same Old Testament as Christians do. Or at least, they accept the first five books as true. It also seems like they consider the New Testament to be true as well, at least to some extent. They believed that Jesus was a prophet, not the Son of...

    Deuteronomy 17:2-5

"Your kind?" What are we to you, an alien species? In the Old Testament, access to God was limited. Israel was God's beacon to the world, and the other nations for the most part were left outside of his mercy. But after Jesus came, the Gentiles (non-Jews) as well as the Jews were given open...

    What does Mt 7:6 mean?

Christianity may have been targeted in its infancy, but they didn't go looking for trouble. Before Saul's conversion, Christians would have kept clear of him. Family members who would threaten their lives would also be avoided.
