  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    You're kidding ---aren't you?

Well, I for one am glad to see that some order and respect was brought about. It's rather appalling that Billy Bob would lead the funeral dirge. How did such things as these get so rampantly wild in the LDS church?

    A Self-interpreting Bible

yes, I follow. The operative word here IS gods. In your OP you ask about a self interpreting bible and if it occurs on a chapter, verse, book or volume level. I have chosen an obvious one in which the Law will give the definition of gods. All you have to do is read the Law to find it. Look...

    A Self-interpreting Bible

I thought I had carried out my example. In the law, one would find the contextual meaning of "gods". The verse means the one thing, and not the other. One also needs the definition of a word in the original language to be able to apply the outlined context. Just as we need the definition of a...

    A Self-interpreting Bible

Self interpretating when all is taken into context as a whole. Again, as a whole. One obvious example is: Joh_10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your Law, "I said, You are gods?" Somewhere in the Law, one would find the context of "gods" as Jesus pointed out. This is...

    The Torment Free Zone

Kinda looks like this idn't quite the oasis of a "torment free zone" at all. ;)

Are the Jehovahs Witnesses really that bad?

No, it's your strawman, not mine. Joh_14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me. Is Jesus the right doctrine?

Are the Jehovahs Witnesses really that bad?

As salvation is by Grace through faith, the JW does'nt fit the bill. Membership is required in their organization. That should be enough to convince you. If not, look at their caste system of heaven. I'm sure they do. Membership required, tho Is not the shed blood of Christ for the sins...

Are the Jehovahs Witnesses really that bad?

Why would anyone need more than the propitiation of sins paid by Christ Jesus. Gods Grace is unlimited in that matter, yes? Isn't that what we are to have faith? That propitiation? How can that be limited to orthodox christian doctrine?

Are the Jehovahs Witnesses really that bad?

Yes there is a one-size-fits all. It's called christianity; being saved by Grace through faith. JW does not fit that bill.

    GOD created everything so....

If there is no darkness in God, then GOd did not create the entity you call evil. I think more along the lines that God created a place where God is not to be found. I call that the entity of evil; a blanket term used to denote the bad choice from the good choice. You cannot find God in the...

Every knee shall bow to Jesus

God says that every knee will bow and some will be angry with Him. It is your timing that infers that all will be saved and all will be happy from accepting Jesus, but it is not possible to be happy and angry with God at the same time.

Every knee shall bow to Jesus

They're not angry when Jesus returns. They're angry when they bow their knees and confess to God. This is a time in which you purport that all have become saved. Every knee. Every tongue. And yet some are angry... What's up with every knee bowing, every tongue confessing and everyone being...

Every knee shall bow to Jesus

Yes, it is written. It is written in: Isa 45:23 I have sworn by Myself, the word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. But it is also written: Isa 45:24 He says, Only in Jehovah do I have...
