  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A Critique of Eastern Monistic Religion

No it can't. Someone might well be able to find valid objections against some of the points made in the article. However, if you just want to dismiss what is said as bias, then I imagine such an attitude is just your own bias. If you can somehow find an intelligent criticism of the article...

    Wicca - Good or Evil

What??? Wicca was construted out of the occult. That is where the rituals come from. Its not the reconstruction of an "ancient pre-Christian nature religion" as some would have it. For the most part Wicca is just New Age nonsense...

Death Penalty. Could you push the botton to kill this man?

Perhaps your right about this, I don't know. I myself believe in both the death penalty and flogging. I wouldn't have any problem doing either of them.

    Anybody here a Trinitarian Universalist?

"Do not all Christians desire to have Christ to be their Saviour? Yes. But here is the Deceit; all would have Christ to be their Saviour in the next World, and to help them into Heaven when they die, by his Power, and Merits with God. But this is not willing Christ to be thy Saviour; for his...

    Trinity

[/color] If your that interested, then search for pages that defend praying to the Son (it appears to be a minor controversy), you should be able to find some examples that they use. Didn't (at least some) of the Disciples worship Jesus?

Is it possible that conservatives really don't know much about the Bible...

I have to say that I think sex has a natural social function, that makes talk of "Biology" a little redundant. (This is in general, and not aimed at the specific point made by Sola Gratia)

Is it possible that conservatives really don't know much about the Bible...

It would be killing an embryo or foetus, not killing a baby. I don't doubt it sounds a little monstrous to you, but I think its a little mischievous to ask for "another word for it"... If you really want my suggestion, it would be something like "responsible" or "libertarian". I never...

Is it possible that conservatives really don't know much about the Bible...

Firstly, being anti-abortion has nothing to do with being politically right-wing, the association comes about because of the connection between the Republican party and conservative Christianity. There is nothing wrong with the State having control over child rearing, there is no infringement...

    Anybody here a Trinitarian Universalist?

I will try to get back to you with a quote and a reference for that, on the specific point that the 'sanctification' must be accomplished (presumably by grace) at least in great measure in this life. I will have to look back other his works... give me a couple of days. The general theme of...

Anyone genuinely right-wing, would not only support abortion, but support forced abortions where the mother is likely unable to raise the child well. your the liberal my friend.

    Anybody here a Trinitarian Universalist?

I think William Law believed that salvation was by sanctification, that (at least to a great extent) had to come about in this life. In practice how many are going to be saved?

Michael von Bruck is worth reading on the subject of the Trinity.

    Trinity

There is no Biblical prohibition (to my knowledge) on prayer directed towards the Son, and I believe that there are examples in the Bible of where prayers are directed specifically to the Son. This is all fairly irrelevant in my view, there is no way Christianity can avoid idolatry if Jesus is...

    Trinity

John makes the point that the Father has entrusted his prerogatives to the Son, in order to ensure that the Son receives equal honour. (Jn. 5:21-23)
