  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Adulation Adiction???

I need help putting a label on something. Our daughter called last night and said her boyfriend seems addicted to texting other women and helping them with their various problems. We dug a little deeper. It turns out he has very low self esteem. He seems to "need" the adulation he gets from...

    Seperation of Religion and Politics?

    I disagree. Jesus was apolitical.

Why are adult-minor sexual relationships against the rules?

Marriage does allow for consent. I must have said it unclearly. Now, the states have minimum marriage ages. I mean, you can't marry a 6 year old no matter who says it's ok. But I believe the minimum age of marriage is lower than 17 everywhere. Anyway, if you are legally married, your ages do...

Why are adult-minor sexual relationships against the rules?

It should be noted that the prohibition exists only outside of marriage. If an adult marries a minor (with the minor's parent's consent, of course) then they can have all the sex they want.

Is staying married when you are no longer in love morally right?

Show me where eros is taught on or even used in the NT. Aside from that, I think you misunderstand what I'm saying.

Is staying married when you are no longer in love morally right?

Well, if we are talking about a godly marriage, the "love" that drives it is agapeo love which should never die. We should always love each other. So, I have to believe that the issue is that the sexual "love" is gone. Although I believe sex is an integral and important part of marriage, it is...

    The Quiverfull movement

For your enjoyment: Interesting blog post on the fallacy of the quiverful movement by a Baptist minister. Exposing the Biblical Holes in Quiverfull Theology My own blog post on whether or not contraception is a sin Is Contraception Sin? My previous forum entry here on the same (with a...

    Abstinence Only

My daughters went through AO and their answer, if I can speak for them, would be "no". In fact, they said it was pertty much a joke, not only amongst the student body but amongst the teachers. Moreover, when they weren;t mocking the ciriculum, they (the teachers) were very frustrated by it...

    Biblically speaking

It was Paul, but point well taken. As an aside - I have a series of blog posts titled "What Is Godly Marriage" that may interest some. This, That, and the Other Thing: What is "Godly Marriage" This, That, and the Other Thing: What is "Godly Marriage" - Part II

    Biblically speaking

It may be relevant in the broader discussion of any two women having sex. But it is not relevant in the specific framework of this thread as put forth by the OP. Do they stay together? Possibly - it would be up to them. Are they married? No. Polygamy is not an individual marriage to multiple...

    Suppose homosexuality is a sin

Ringo referred to marriages and relationships. My response took "relationships" to mean sexual relationships. I am responding to that. If Ringo didn't mean "sex" by "relationships" then I guess the comment truly was off topic. The marriage part is quite irrelevant.

    Biblically speaking

I believe you read the OP incorrectly. Yasic's observation of a discussion in another thread was the motivation to ask a related but different question here. You are addressing the question posed in the motivating thread. That is not the question posed here. The question posed here relates to...

    Suppose homosexuality is a sin

I was inclined to call this off topic too, as we have in prior comments, but this statement kind of answers the question. In western democracies, we don't (usually) outlaw things that don't interfere with the rights of others. That is why homosexual sex, while considered sinful by Christians...

    Biblically speaking

Let's refocus. The main question of the OP is: "Biblically speaking, would it be a sin for 2 women who are both married to the same man to engage in sexual actions with one another?" Homosexual marriage isn't even in view so let's leave that out of the discussion.
