  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Commuting 2+ hours to work?

I think for me it would come down to whether the job is worth it as a career opportunity, and if it pays enough to make it worthwhile.

    Commuting 2+ hours to work?

I took a job a half hour from my home town, and the drive got old. I moved within two years. If the job is worth it, and you can afford the gas and the vehicle maintenance, I would put up with the drive until I could move closer. It is all in what you want. The two hours can become tedious...

Adventist view of the SDA church as the remnant

Paul was accused of being in a sect. Acts 24:14-15 But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets. I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that...

THE GREAT CONTROVERSY in Baltimore, Maryland

Our denomination has a focus on Bible prophecy, and getting the word out about end time events. If a person can read about church history and end time events, it might pique an interest in reading the Bible, where just receiving a Bible may not, as many people grew up with a dusty Bible in...

THE GREAT CONTROVERSY in Baltimore, Maryland

Something you might not understand about Seventh-day Adventists... We read written works from various denominations as part of our Bible study, and we even watch sermons from various other denominations. The goal being to rightly divide the truth according to what the Bible says. I've already...

THE GREAT CONTROVERSY in Baltimore, Maryland

I don't understand why you're still stuck on this point. It is a common practice to pass out tracts and books by most Christian denominations, and even mail them to people. Over the years I've received a large number of tracts and even personally written letters from Christians of other...

Evaluating Adventist Fundamental Belief 18, And Why Ellen White Matters to Seventh-day Adventist Theology.

The official Adventist website clarifies what is meant by claiming to be "the remnant church of end time Bible prophecy". I welcome the reader to come to their own conclusions based on what these official statements say. Mission Statement of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Understanding the...

Why are there even denominations to begin with?

    1. Revelation 17 is speculative... Revelation 17:1-6 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great harlot that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have...

    Ellen White on photographs

To the reader: Context is important. Here's why. Source: Google AI (search: "context definition"), AI sourced its response from the Cambridge Dictionary. Context is the background, setting, or surrounding circumstances that help explain the true meaning of an event, statement, or piece of...

Why are there even denominations to begin with?

The divide in Christendom was prophesied to happen. 2 Thessalonians 2 calls it the falling away; defection from truth (properly, the state) ("apostasy"):—falling away, forsake. Revelation 17 describes a corrupt woman; a woman is symbol for a church. This corrupt church has daughters. If there...

Who would you recommend as an Adventist Theologian?

We have many great speakers in our church, and I could recommend so many. One speaker that stands out to me for the new Christian is Ivor Myers (specifically, his sermons). He has some powerful ones on YouTube. Here is a good example.

Who would you recommend as an Adventist Theologian?

The top person that comes to mind for me is Stephen Bohr of the Secrets Unsealed ministry. He has a large number of playlists of his seminar series' that go deep into the study of scripture, especially prophetic scripture. He also provides extensive study notes. If there was one person I...

    what if we get hit

The Bible says in Acts 2:17, "‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams." However, any dream or vision that goes against...

Adventist beliefs and doctrines compared to the Early Church from Christ

I read a Facebook post yesterday that brought up an important point. "If fulfilling your wedding vows doesn’t abolish them, why do you think Jesus fulfilling the law abolished it?" Paul's statement on the law. Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we...
