  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Problems at work are causing my hubby to despair

We both are very reluctant to leave as he is a 15 year employee who was there pretty much on the ground floor and I have been here for the last 8. We actually started dating about 3weeks after i began and was assigned to his group, almost every one of our Co workers attended our wedding. So we...

Problems at work are causing my hubby to despair

This is exactly like what's going on at our job but loyalties are not split on gender lines but more on previous employment. The company hubby and I work at absorbed one of our competitors late last year. At that time we were thinking the sky was the limit. My husband was a my group's lead and...

Problems at work are causing my hubby to despair

That's some awesome advice. Thanks! I am going to forward that site to hubby. It just still really sucks because hubby lost out on an expanded managerial position in favor of her because of how she minipulated a couple bad situations.

Problems at work are causing my hubby to despair

@Silverback No, it's not anything like sexual harassment but it definitely is damaging. What is happening at our job is actually very similar to what you describe but not as overt. What this woman is doing to me and my hubby is not as much complaining about us but she is subtly undermining us...

Problems at work are causing my hubby to despair

My hubby and I are fortunate enough to have careers where we work together and through much faith and hard work we were definitely seeing the blessings roll in. We were at a high point about 3 months ago but since then things have been slowly unraveling for up professionally and this has got...

Aaarg I just can't stand moral hazards

That would be nice, but unfortunately people lie. She told them that she didn't see the incident happen and the burden of proof is on the business to prove otherwise

Aaarg I just can't stand moral hazards

To clarify we are not in the insurance industry we are in the energy industry but wrong is still wrong. You hit the nail on the head though concerning the property of others. There are at least a half dozen parables in the bible about being a faithful Steward.

Aaarg I just can't stand moral hazards

I see your point and I pray always that this is the case. It still just irks me that people are this way because this type of selfishness is what is contributing to this race to the bottom. It hardens the hearts of people and corporations who are in the position to help and it just hurts everyone.

Aaarg I just can't stand moral hazards

Unfortunately there is no legal obligation to do so in Colorado. I actually placed a call to the rental company to inform them off what happened but they told me that there was nothing they can do about it since those terms were not spelled out in the damage waiver.

Aaarg I just can't stand moral hazards

I wouldn't say it's theft per say but more a dereliction of duty. In truth she didn't steal anything. She did pay for the damage waiver in order to absolve her of any damage to the vehicle. But I feel that she took that absolution to the point of immorality when she would not even do the minimum...

Aaarg I just can't stand moral hazards

For all of you who don't know what a moral hazard is, moral hazard is a term widely used in the casualty industry to describe a the change in behavior of an individual due solely to the fact that she has insurance/safety net. An example of this is if a person would normally pay to park in a...
