  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Judging someone who has divorced parents

My nephews' parents are divorced. Why should the fact that their mother left my brother for another man (who she has been married to now for 10 years) be a reflection on them??? Their parents have made the point over the last 12 years of NEVER acting as anything other than a united parental...

Trump NY co-chair makes racist remarks about Michelle Obama

So glad that jerk wasn't elected our Governor. Unfortunately there are a lot of right wing wingnuts in upstate NY.

    Domestic Violence

First day of the official Christmas shopping season, the day after American Thanksgiving, which is always the last Thursday in November. So named because on that day so many people go shopping that stores that may have been in the red (losing money) all year often go into the black (making a...

    Domestic Violence

That's why SMART people never give up control of their lives to someone else. Keep your own money in your own bank account, and your apartment lease/deed to your house and car in your own name. I see too many people (usually women) just signing over their control over the things they have worked...

You just aren't using the right search terms. I can find literally dozens of free, fully accessible sites on a Google or Yahoo search. There are also some interesting-themed profiles on Tumblr.

Police Shoot/Kill CCW Holder After Instructing Him to Produce License/Registration

SMH. I've been pulled over for a taillight out and a headlight out. At no time was I ever asked for my license or registration or proof of insurance. They were just, like... "are you aware that this light is out?" "No, thank you for telling me, officer, I will have it taken care of the first...

More than anything else, we need to stop stigmatizing mental illness

We just had a case in my area where an older man has been arrested for following several women with young children around in several different stores in the area. On the Facebook articles there are plenty of apologists trying to say "well, maybe he has dementia or Alzheimer's onset." As a woman...

    Alligators, at Disney World?

I did, searching under "Donna Douglas loses leg..." and nothing came up. Her Wiki page doesn't say anything about that either.

The body of the baby snatched by an alligator in Orlando has been found :(

A keystone species in its native habitat is never a "problem." It's the human population that wants the wildlife to clear out so they can have their good time that is the problem. I live an hour south of the largest state park in the country, bigger than Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon put...

    Alligators, at Disney World?

Because that lagoon used to be swampland, which is the natural habitat for alligators. You can't stop them from going where they want to go, as with any wild animal. They have much more of a right to be there than the humans who have built right on top of their habitat. And yes, there ARE "no...

    Alligators, at Disney World?

I would hope that someone who sees a sign that says "no swimming" would be smart enough to figure out that it means "no activity allowed in this body of water." No wading, no laying and letting the waves come over you, or lounging on a pool edge with your feet in the water. I've been at a number...

Stanford Rapist Get 6 Months Sentence

Exactly. My brother is 46 years old, and has been out of the house since the age of 18. None of us had a "bad childhood," in fact it was idyllic compared to what most kids are experiencing today, so he can't blame that.

Stanford Rapist Get 6 Months Sentence

Several years ago, after he got out on the child molestation conviction that put him on the sex offender list (he had actually another blemish on his record from when he had molested me, but he was a minor at that time and there was no registry back in the 1980's when that came to a head), he...

Stanford Rapist Get 6 Months Sentence

^^^Up to a point, I was convinced that we were talking about the same s'path, except the one I know is still alive. I think the movie The Bad Seed is as good an illustration of the fact that a "nice" family and a good home can't always prevent someone from developing into a(n) <<expletive...
