  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

‘Sins of the flesh’ hurt innocent people: Pope Francis should take them more seriously

I like Pope Francis but I don't understand his reasoning or thinking. When I was in Catholic school we were taught that there are venial sins and mortal sins where dying with a mortal sin ends you up in permanent punishment hell and venial sins in temporary punishment. I also know he has said...

Supreme Court will decide if parents have a religious liberty right to reject lessons with 'LGBTQ+ content' for their kids

There are all some individuals who attempt to push an agenda, just as you trying to push your agenda. Agendas vary in all groups. LGBT agenda was to stop the discrimination which has been partially accomplished in the US and EU. That is from your own prejudiced beliefs. There are many LGBT in...

Supreme Court will decide if parents have a religious liberty right to reject lessons with 'LGBTQ+ content' for their kids

You are living in the distant past. The stereotype that all gay people are promiscuous is inaccurate and harmful; just like any other group of people, sexual behavior varies greatly among individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, and the idea that gay people are inherently more promiscuous than...

Supreme Court will decide if parents have a religious liberty right to reject lessons with 'LGBTQ+ content' for their kids

As I mention in a previous post it's been Calf. since 2011. Perhaps we should give it another 13 years? I am sure there are some people sick, just as I am sick of politicians using it as battering ram I am also a practicing Catholic. I have two good friends who are priests. Just as you I...

Supreme Court will decide if parents have a religious liberty right to reject lessons with 'LGBTQ+ content' for their kids

Can you point us to any "lawsuits" in states such as California and New Jersey that support teachers teaching a LGBTQ-inclusive curriculum? Calf. started their support in 2011. If not why do you suppose there will be law suites pilling for a LGBTQ-inclusive curriculum in the future?

    Jesus & James

The CCC states that only God should be worshiped and adored. Mary is a creature, not a god, and therefore should not be worshiped. The Bible does not instruct people to worship anyone other than God. To worship a creature, even one as exalted as Mary, is idolatry Baptismal regeneration is the...

    To my Orthodox Brethren

I agree. Pope Francis has said that homosexual acts are grave sins just like all other sexual acts outside of a valid marriage. Perhaps someone should start a thread on sexual sins other than or in addition to homosexual acts.

    To my Orthodox Brethren

Pope Francis has explained and made clear that blessing is for the individuals and NOT THE RELATIONSHIP.

Supreme Court will decide if parents have a religious liberty right to reject lessons with 'LGBTQ+ content' for their kids

I wish people who make such ridiculous and untruthful statements would at the very least produce their sources so we can better evaluate them and determine if they are truthful or harmful. I won't hold my breath. The facts: The claim that young children are being "brainwashed" into believing...

    To my Orthodox Brethren

Present policy of the Catholic Church is that men with "deeply rooted homosexual tendencies" or who are sexually active cannot be ordained. The Catholic Church views marriage as a sacred institution that is a covenant between a man and a woman for life. There is zero chance that it would ever...

    To my Orthodox Brethren

I agree. The only point I was trying to make is that, regardless of cause, sexual orientation is not changeable.

Supreme Court will decide if parents have a religious liberty right to reject lessons with 'LGBTQ+ content' for their kids

Outside of internal debates within various Christian denominations what mess has SSM caused? Catholics don't approve of same sex marriages but Pope Francis has voiced support for same-sex civil unions since 2020. In your opinion, in what ways does SSM harm society?

Supreme Court will decide if parents have a religious liberty right to reject lessons with 'LGBTQ+ content' for their kids

I am not interested in the politics. My posts have addressed the non-changeability of sexual orientation. I don't doubt that there are parents on both sides who want to change things. It is up to the school boards to decide what to allow. In my state, Florida, there have been many school board...
