  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    On death, heaven, and hell

Miles that was a lovely post. As a Byzantine Catholic I often have difficulty relating to the Latin rite to me they are very legalistic. That is not how I was raised and cathticasized.

    Mom's Italian Kitchen

Yeah I tried it once, it was a total fail. I do make a mean from scratch dumpling and by dumpling I mean big fat egg noodles not those puffy round abominations.

    Mom's Italian Kitchen

That does sound good, my husband makes a mean lassanga that uses less ricotta than usual and I like it so I bet I would like your recipe. This tread is making me hungry for my homemade from scratch spaghetti sauce it is pretty time consuming so I haven't made it since we brought our son home.

    Mom's Italian Kitchen

I gotta call it like I see it, national pride aside Italian cuisine is way better than German in general. I like any Italian food that doesn't have ricotta cheese in it (I really hate ricotta).

    Obama Calls Catholic Schools "Divisive"

Well I'm pretty liberal about everything except abortion so if it was true that 0bama was trying to indoctrinate our kids via the public school system, which I don't think he is, I doubt I would have a problem with it. I expect that my child will be exposed to different values and points of...

    Obama Calls Catholic Schools "Divisive"

Yes, we had many non Catholics in pur school too. Since it was our parish' s school, it closed many years ago, it was affordable for my parents, non parishioners paid considerably more. My father, a protestant and public school teacher did not feel that the specific public school that I would...

    Should a Catholic attend a "re-baptism"?

I have many protestant friends and relative including my husband I would be honored to be invited to attend their baptism but if they had previously been baptized in the Catholic church would probably decline. I hope it never comes up.

    Obama Calls Catholic Schools "Divisive"

This is one of those things that could happen in theory but rarely or not all happens in real life. I went to our parish' s school (K-8) I never found this to be true but I was glad to go to a public high school. I will not send my son to private school religion or secular although it don't...
