  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Guitar pedals and stuff

Kia Ora Wiremu (forgive me if I'm wrong in my assumption that you are from New Zealand because of your first name :)) The ME70 is a good way to get a taste for pretty much all the Boss pedal sounds. You can run it as if it were 5 individual pedals where you select which pedal sound you want...

Is the ability to feel moved by music due to the deeper psycho/acoustic/spiritual nature of music? And how much of...

    Music revealing religious/spiritual truth?

Music has great power to stir emotions on a deep level. I think certain arrangements, instruments, melodies etc evoke certain feelings and when the lyrics hold meaning to the listener the combination can create powerful emotional responses. A good musician or lyricist can convey emotion and...

    Thongs VS Jandals

I believe the term 'jandal' (in NZ) was derived from 'Japanese Sandal'. Any Kiwi's my parents' age able to confirm that? ;-)

    Teaching an 8-year-old...HELP!

Hey there, I have a few students and for the young kids I use 'Alfred's Kid's Guitar Course' 1 and 2 as a guide. It uses 3 and 4 string partial chords that are easier for small hands. Also, have a look at the resources from Jean Welles. KidsWorshipGuitar.com God bless :-)

    Blank spots on the strings

Hey there Greatcloud The string windings get flattened (the blank spot), in the areas where you play most so there is no way of preventing it. You can prolong the life of your strings by wiping them down with a cloth after each play and there are some string cleaning products that help...

    Martial Arts

Good for you, that's a great achievement. In some Christian circles martial arts are considered evil because of the eastern religious element in their original forms. That could be a big debate for some... but I don't want to go there. However, it seems to me that today many of...
