  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Could not believe

John 9:39 KJV And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. Does Christ make those who see blind or not? Yes or no. If yes, then all this is much ado about nothing. If no, then what are you calling sin...

    Could not believe

As pertaining to God's involvement, you mention three things: By telling Isaiah to take a message to the people that they would reject. God's command as "Go to the people and render their hearts insensitive". The problem is that those who think that God directly turns hearts against Him will...

    Could not believe

So, it was neither Isaiah nor God who rendered the hearts of the people insensitive, rather, it was the people who rendered their own heart insensitive and blinded their own eyes? How is this achieved? By an inert "mechanism". Well, I don't know what else to say. Thanks for the reply and...

    Could not believe

Matthew 17:5 KJV While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." If Isaiah not only had the power to render hearts insensitive but also to do it, yet, God does...

The wrath of God against the unregenerate

Yes. Christ is either victorious or Satan is. Christ is risen indeed and all will be resurrected. (I think the parts in bold are a wee bit different) As you know, the propitiation of sin was accomplished in One Person: our Lord Jesus Christ. We did not propitiate our sins and a person is...

Please help me solve a dilemma, thanks!

If Paul is "on the hook" then it would be a good idea to get him off of it. 1 Corinthians 15:5-8 KJV (5) And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: (6) After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are...

How can unregenerate people worship God?

Fascinating. What is your evaluation of Calvin here: "But what more incongruous than that the ungodly in their obstinate blindness should obtain what the pious worshipers of God receive by faith only? It is certain, therefore, that there will be one resurrection to judgment, and another to...

To Love or Not To Love...

Love is in God alone, this is eternal. Enemies are simply sin as personified, which is separate from God. The extension and duration of that love to that enemy cannot be called eternal because, while love is an attribute of God, sin certainly isn't. The Gospel message is Good News indeed for...

Is this what they call "Orthodox?"

Do you now? First make it conformable to the Trinity, so as to keep this orthodox Christianity.

Is this what they call "Orthodox?"

    We already went through this.

Is this what they call "Orthodox?"

Ok. Then what do you mean by "power"?
  12. F

Is this what they call "Orthodox?"

All you have done here is make another essence which you term 'power'. Since 'power' doesn't do much you need to find a person but just end up with no one around to fit the bill. You have already exhausted all the "persons" and they have been unable to do anything either because they aren't...

Is this what they call "Orthodox?"

As it pertains to the OP: this is from Isaac Ambrose; "Surely this is a blessed life; and as soon as ever I am united to Christ, why then, I ‘live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me,’ first, Christ is conceived, and then Christ is formed, and then Christ is born, and then Christ grows in me...

Is this what they call "Orthodox?"

Yes. So, good, I am glad we're in agreement that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the Cross. But if, as you said, God was in the flesh as a man, how did he raise Christ? And if, as you said, the holy-spirit was disconnected from flesh, how did he raise Christ? And if, as you said, Jesus...

Is this what they call "Orthodox?"

Again, just as a reminder: Ok, so your answer is "Jesus the Son of Man died on the Cross, but Jesus the Son of God was resurrected." You didn't stop there. Because of your further refinement, the problem is that now you're going to have to say that Jesus, the Son of God, never died. Of...
