  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why are some adventists so concerned with marrying other adventists?

Hello ProverbsWisdom, The reason that SDA's are advised, very strongly, against marrying a non-SDA, is because of the Sabbath, primarily. Worshipping on Sunday, is or will be, the Mark of the Beast. Saturday vs. Sunday is the final test on planet earth in the end times. Other reasons, are...

    Desire of the Ages

I have read Desire of Ages, Great Controversy, Steps to Christ, most of the Testimonies and various other EGW writings. I was an Adventist for 27 years, spouse was a lifelong Adventist (50 years) and was employed by the SDA church. So, I don't speak from ignorance regarding Adventism/EGW. If...

    The mark of the beast

The word charagma means scratch or etching, which would certainly be "in" the skin. It isn't related to "thinking" or "doing". It will be a mark, that to be without, one will not be able to buy or sell.

    The mark of the beast

mrasell, Thanks for your response...it still seems to be a physical mark of some kind. Just thought it would be interesting for others to investigate on their own, if they are so inclined.

    The mark of the beast

Has anyone here looked up the Greek word for mark...according to Strong's Concordance? It seems to mean "etching" or "stamp" or "imprinted mark". Might be something interesting to investigate.

    What church do you attend?

We attend an Alliance church (CMA) and a non-denominational church in another town that we visit a few times a year. I really like the non-denomination church, but it is way too far to attend regularly. The pastor there is very much aligned with John McArthur. He preaches through books of the...

    Looking for a Denomonation

Dear Bibleblevr, Please do a lot of research into SDA'ism. Read what others have to say, look beneath the surface. There are nice people in Adventism, but the doctrines and the legalism is something you need to be very aware of.

Has the time come to unite Traditional & Progressive Seventh Day Adventists

Formers Beware!!!! I don't trust SDA's. The bottom line is, we have the truth, and you surely don't. Especially if you are a former. Those are my thoughts. Do what you will.

Should I eat breakfast or not?

Xenon, That's too bad. Is the water ususally okay to drink? Hope the lady is alright. Unfortunately, the reason at this church, was because it isn't healthy to drink with your meals. This is a very small church, and things like this have been going on for years there.

Should I eat breakfast or not?

Jon, Yes, I was speaking about USA for sure. We have lived in the Northeast, South, Southeast and Western parts of NA, and believe me, there was never, ever any meat there, nor would it have been "kosher" to bring it. I'm sure there are a few exceptions, even in the US, but percentage wise...

Should I eat breakfast or not?

Wow Sentipenti I think you read a lot into AT's statement. That is just the way it is in SDA'ism. Dietary issues are a big deal. Just brink a pork chop to potluck, or any type of meat for that matter, at probably 95% of SDA churches. Talk about a crime, the chill in the room would be...

    Sabbath School subject discussion thread

How do you and God communicate? Through some of the Bible, none of it, other written material, does God speak to you audibly, or impressions in your mind? I'm very curious how this relationship communicates or develops. Our relationships with wives, etc. are based on a day to day actual...
