  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

It is obvious to me from what you have said that you do not believe God. If you did you would know that Jesus, make us righteous without any work from us. Yes, God gives us all the tools when we first believe. The main tool that He gives us is "all we need do is to keep believing in Jesus and we...

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us...

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

You are correct all sin will be punished. And who will be the judge to determine sin? John 5:22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, NKJV Jesus will determine who sins. No one except Jesus will determine sin. Not you, the Church or commentary writers...

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 19 And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. 20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart...

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

I didn't think with your doctrine that you could explain that event. You do not believe the you man was saved at the time Paul wrote the epistle. Acts 18:9 Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, "Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; 10 for I am with you, and no...

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

You did not say why you do not believe the young man in 1Corinthians5:1-11 was not justified by Jesus. Paul recommended that he be turned over to Satan for destruction of the flesh so that his spirit would be saved on the day lf the Lord. Paul thought he was saved. The church thought that he was...

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

If we persist, or endure, in believing in Jesus we will have gained eternal life with Jesus. In the NT we are expected to act like sons of God. Therefore. The apostles said things like: Therefore, brethren, we are debtors not to live according to the flesh. Other times they might...

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

Here are a few scriptures that you seem not to be aware of. Romans 4:5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from...

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

Romans 4:6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: 7 "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin." NKJV I'm not sure that you...

God requires sinless perfection to enter His kingdom

1 John 2:5 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. NKJV The end result of our sanctification is to make us perfect. Yes, we will love everyone in heaven with the love Jesus gifted us with.

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

The first time being convicted in discipline I am separating what we do with what we want. 1 Corinthians 11:27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let...

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

It is about what we want. While we are in Jesus no amount of childish disobedience gets us out of Jesus. We are saved through our faith. If we lose hope in Jesus, we lose the vehicle we are saved through. If we keep wanting what Jesus gives us, by using His love, which does not love the...

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

We have to use what Jesus equipped us with to overcome. We are still tempted as we are in the flesh. Romans 7: 14 As Paul said we are sold under sin. Even though we are not under the law and God does not impute sin to us. We have to use the love of Jesus, that He gave to us, to overcome. If we...

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

In my first post I did not say much about the first commandment: we must keep believing in Jesus. Jesus has given us all the gifts we need to enter heaven. God could have taken us to heaven when we first believed. If someone gives us a gift, all we need do is accept it. If something is free we...

We must do the commandments in 1John 3:20-24 to bear fruit

There is only one way a person can bear fruit, that is to keep Jesus' commandments given in 1John 3:20-24. The list of fruits of the Spirit is listed in Galatians. All the fruits listed are given to us by Jesus. Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering...
