  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

China : To Slay the Red Dragon

Well, if you want to discuss the issue of repayment, America had owed much to parts of Europe before WWII, because there's no way we would have won the Revolutionary War by ourselves, so our assistance in WWII could be considered a repayment, making us even.

If WMDs were found in Iraq?

Maybe, but the fact is we sold Saddam so many back during Reagan's day that I wouldn't be all that surprised. Whether credible or not, I wouldn't be shocked if such a find was reported anytime soon.

    News Flash: Pledge again illegal

Hmm, I shall stray off topic for a little. It's impossible for a slave owner not to be racist, in the context of American slavery, whether overtly or covertly, explicitly or implicitly. The very owning of a black slave entrenches the very system and all the stereotypes and untruths that were...

    News Flash: Pledge again illegal

I agree. The only thing I am arguing against is a forced pledge of any kind, the current form of which includes an affirmation of God. If it included a denial of God instead, I would be against that, too. No one should be forced to affirm or deny anything of the sort.

Pat Robertson calls for Chavez Head

Their status as an ally comes solely from the oil they sell us. Their government is far less progressive than even Saddam's regime was, and the amount of terrorists the country as a whole is harboring is ridiculous. Most of the people with the power, the several princes and oil tycoons, don't...

Pat Robertson calls for Chavez Head

Yet we'll never invade Saudi Arabia even though most of the 9/11 participants including Bin Laden himself hail from that country, because we're hypocrites.

China : To Slay the Red Dragon

The above is true, but they are slowly weaning every other region of the world off of reliance on American exports and onto theirs. It's been a rather slow process, but there are articles in business newspapers virtually every day that track the improvement of Chinese trade relations with South...

    News Flash: Pledge again illegal

If law forces atheist schoolchildren to affirm the existence of God in speech every day (through the Pledge), that is interference with their beliefs. "We the General Assembly of Virginia do enact that no man shall be compelled to frequent or support any religious worship, place, or ministry...

Is God not the ultimate goal?

Hmm, I'm an Advaitin, but my beliefs don't seem any different from yours, MahaSudarshanChakra. Care to elaborate a little on them?

Why Karma Is False Doctrine And Why Jesus Is The True Way

I'm glad you brought this up. There are two explanations, based on varying Hindu beliefs. One is that those hells are metaphorical, as Hindu scripture is extremely fond of the use of cryptic metaphor. The other explanation is that these hells are physical states. Some Hindus believe that it is...

    Regarding sanskrit and hinduism

I don't believe languages to come from God either. The myth was merely an example of historical equivalence in viewpoint. Secondly, you assume the literature that has been written in Sanskrit points to a superiority in the language itself, which is a logical fallacy. There are far more...

    Regarding sanskrit and hinduism

As a Tamilian, and someone who knows Sanskrit, I'm not sure I myself can call Sanskrit superior to Tamil in the way that you posit. The linguistic perspective shows both languages to be complex in different ways. For example, Tamil has sounds in it that Sanskrit simply does not have, and vice...

    Bhagavad-gt first 2 chapters

It may well do so, but yours assumes that no such offer was given. To Hindus, first God promised humanity equality and unity with Him, so it is not a selfish/arrogant desire born out of an ambitious ego.

Hindus here - Your opinion about Kanchi acharya arrest and ongoing murder case

Your OP here concerns the opinions of Hindus, if you care to read it again. If opinion(s) have been provided, as you say Ram has, then what is the problem?

    Did you Know !

Sorry for any lack of clarity within the post. I merely didn't want my opinion to be judged based on assumptions that I wasn't Indian, seeing specifically as I do believe that Indians aren't a single race, which is a view somewhat closer to the Aryan invasion theory, despite the fact that I am...
