Antigone, Why are you taking this so personal? Don't you live in a country outside of the USA? I criticize Obama, and you react like I'm criticizing you. Obama isn't infallible, so he should be criticized.

You are arguing against a straw man. I never never said, "the president said..." I gave my assessment that what he said amounted to an apology. You disagree with me, but many others agree with my assessment.

Humanae Vitae is an easy encyclical to defend because the predictions made in it came true.

Saying that it doesn't make logical sense is criticism. And he was criticizing it in a drive by manner, giving his opinion as if fact without any logic to back up his claim.

Rather than doing drive by criticism of a papal encyclical, tell us the name of it. I think I can handle it, it's probably one I already know about. And you don't really expect the best Catholic apologists to be found on a Protestant website, do you?

Catholicism isn't based on what you find morally objectionable. It's based on Christ and the authority he gave to his Church to preach on his behalf and make judgments on moral matters such as this.

The number probably corresponds to the number of liberal women. A high number like that is believable to me in this hedonist culture of death.
