  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    A good question!

MWood, you're welcome and thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. It's an interesting discussion (for me anyway) and I hope it will continue to grow.

    A good question!

You would be correct, Danoh! Yet it's probably about as clear an explanation as I'm likely to get. I can see the argument that they thought time was short and the fulness of the Gentiles was probably a short time away. It's clear from scripture that nobody expected the new Grace program to...

    A good question!

"The issue you are having trouble "wrapping your mind around" is one that has challenged many. So don't feel alone. In fact, it is so common that it actually has been given a name! The "Twelve In/Out" question--that is, did the Twelve Apostles (and those they ministered to in the Pentecostal...

    A good question!

Danoh, my husband studied under Richard Jordan and has spent time with him. He's been through most of the Grace School of the Bible, and we have a number of teaching tapes from there, too. The way you explain it sounds so much like my DH. I guess that's where it comes from!

    A good question!

Danoh, Thanks for your reply and support. So your understanding of why the remnant believing Jews did not "participate" or embrace the Grace message Paul was teaching is because they didn't think it would be long before the Lord returned? As I consider this whole question, I'm putting...

    A good question!

Mr Morris, If you're going to be rude and condescending, please feel free to ignore me. OTOH, you didn't answer my question about whether or not you're a dispensationalist. If you aren't, then of course you'll think my question is based on false premises. And I will think your answers are...

    A good question!

Ok, yes. I get that Peter and the rest had marching orders from the Lord per Matt. 28. But that doesn't quite address my entire query. Maybe it will help if I break the question down into elements. Starting with 2 Peter 3: 15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is...

    A good question!

    1. There are no bad questions. 2. Are you a dispensationalist, BW?

    A good question!

;) Since Peter, (and presumably James, John and the rest of the disciples) knew what Paul was preaching about the dispensation of grace...(1 Peter 3:15-16) Since the letter to the Galatians (see 3:26-29) makes it clear that there is neither Jew nor Greek but all are one in Christ...also...

    Grace believers and worship music

Thanks, Danoh. I appreciate your explanation and perspective. We believe that God has given us music to be integrated into the entire worship experience. There is plenty of scripture to back that up. We absolutely agree with you that lyrics need to be doctrinally correct, and as Paul...

    Mid-Acts Dispensationalism

The verse you cite (Acts 9:6) is what proves it. Saul was saved/converted by his encounter with the Living Christ. There is no further account of a salvation story about Saul/Paul after that. I have not heard anyone attempt to prove Paul was saved in Acts 13, so cannot answer it, but...

    Grace believers and worship music

I know it's been a while since I logged on...sorry for the long absence! But my DH and I are studying this topic and I thought I'd like to hear from some of the grace believers here for more perspective. Our little congregation (the one my DH attended and introduced me to when we married in...

    Don't spank your kids

The Bible says this too: Proverbs 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. 14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. Sounds pretty brutal to us nowadays, doesn't it? I followed the teachings of...
