  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Why I write G-d.

Whilst I do understand where you come from on this in omitting the o, I do not agree with you. For me G-d (i will write it this way out of respect for your beliefs) is not one of the names of Adonai (and I know neither is Adonai, technically but I feel it better to use than the tetragrammaton...

    Meat and milk

Yes, it is something which the Rabbis have added, as a result many messianics (including me) do not keep this law. It starts to get silly when they say that chicken which was always classed as parve (neither meat nor dairy) should be considered meat because whilst the law may allow cream of...

    Richard Dawkins

I am not sure how many of you have heard of Richard Dawkins. Not only is he anti religion but he also appears to be an anti Israel and possibly an anti semite. This is a quote from a recent interview in a British newspaper: http://books.guardian.co.uk/news/articles/0,,2180660,00.html This guy...

Okay Ezekiel 37:26-28. This answer comes in two parts, first the now part. As believers in Messiah, we have the Holy Spirit living within us and the Messianic Writings describe our bodies as temples so G-d is literally living within us. Messianic believers also have a spiritual peace from Him...

We tend not to get mad so easily. Could you provide the scriptural references to the individual prophesies though, it just makes our lives that much easier. We will start with the easy one being of the line of David. I read an article by a rabbi just the other week saying the same thing and...

Shalom BumbleBee. I and I am sure most of the MJs here believe that Rabbi Yeshua did indeed fulfil many of the prophecies - just not in the way many of the Jews of the time were expecting. Are there any specific prophecies you are refering to?

    Counting the Omer

I try to stay away from it. As far as ancient is concerned it doesn't appear to have appeared before 1000AD. Why was this not written up before like the Mishnah if it has been around as long? That is my opinion though.

An intellectually stimulating thread (I hope)

Since the begining there have been monotheists, just look at Adam and Eve, and that is in the Bible as being before Judaism. Following the fall and as a result of sin people began to close off to G-d and began the worship of other gods. I am not surprised that one or two of these religions kept...

Sorry, my mistake, I even copied and pasted the verse so I don't know what was going on inside my head. I'll blame the Seder wine;) If it ca be be translated as corners, borders or any of the other options, then it is not surprising that the woman touched Jesus' tzittzit for healing.

An interesting thing I have heard is that Mic 4:2 can be translated as But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its corners. Instead "in its wings" as the Hebrew word could be translated either way. Maybe someone with better Hebrew skills could confirm...

    Jewish and the Rapture

There is no one singular traditional Christian view, one happens to have become rather popular in recent years as a result of Left Behind and a few other books. Many Christians such as John Piper do not accept this view.
