Pope approves blessings for same-sex couples if they don't resemble marriage

The funny thing is he posted what language he used to bless these two men, and quite frankly if that was the blessing, he really gave he could have given that one before Tuesday. So, I really don't believe he gave that one, but like you said, he pushes the boundaries, but he stays within at...

Pope approves blessings for same-sex couples if they don't resemble marriage

Yes, but it requires that they recognize their irregular relationship and a desire to live a life of continence, if they remain together, to follow the Lord.

Pope approves blessings for same-sex couples if they don't resemble marriage

If you were able to walk away from reading about irregular relationships in AMORIS LÆTITIA not confused about what he was trying to say there, then you have my respect. I walked away from reading that section, thinking well I don't think anything changed, or did it? It is easy IMO to get two...

Pope approves blessings for same-sex couples if they don't resemble marriage

Pope Francis’ issue is that he wants to speak pastorally instead of doctrinally. The issue here is that if your audience doesn’t know that is the case or doesn’t know the difference it creates confusion. Doctrinal statements are usually clear cut. Right/wrong, black/white. Pastoral...

Pope Francis formally authorizes blessings for same-sex couples (*certain restrictions apply)

Nope that document does not. Twice the document says the Church has no power to bless same-sex unions. I repeat twice. But what does the head lines say?

Pope approves blessings for same-sex couples if they don't resemble marriage

I think that the issue here is because the Vatican under Pope Francis, and he himself, have issue documents and statements that are confusing as all get out, but it does create a built-in expectation of confusion. I don't read the news concerning Catholic things. I go to the source, if...

Pope approves blessings for same-sex couples if they don't resemble marriage

"38. For this reason, one should neither provide for nor promote a ritual for the blessings of couples in an irregular situation. At the same time, one should not prevent or prohibit the Church’s closeness to people in every situation in which they might seek God’s help through a simple...

Wanted: Open, Honest Dialogue on the Liturgy

This is really getting tiresome. The liturgy as we have it today, if celebrated with the reverence that it calls for, is just as powerful and saintly as any liturgy that we have had in the past. The problem is that it seems especially in the Northeast, there are a lot of lukewarm Catholics...

NYC Catholic church to hold ‘Pride Mass’ at monument of homosexual Stonewall riots

I just surprises me that Catholic leadership hasn't figured out that this movement is more of a religious movement than anything else, with sex being the god they worship. Sex with whoever, whatever and how many evers one wants, that is their sacrament. A pride Mass is like celebrating Martin...

Millions of Catholics have honest concerns about problems they see at Mass. It is a grave pastoral mistake not to take their concerns seriously...

Because it establishes to the recipient that there is something different going on here than just receiving a cracker. At every other meal we use our hands and our utensils to eat with, and these we call our common meals. The Eucharist is not common obviously; and it should be treated...

I agree. I think experiment of receiving communion in the hand and standing has failed, in the sense of catechises practice. We have a huge issue right now with unbelief in the pews when it comes to our greatest Sacrament.

Yeah but that was during a Passover Meal, which I can get. But as the ceremony evolved both in the East and the West, it ceased by based upon a common meal and became a ritual. We aren't having dinner in the traditional sense at Mass, we are having a ceremony, which very early in our...

Satanism: The New “Religion” That Seeks to Thwart Christians and Catholics in the United States

The "official" church of Satan holds this view. But there are Satanist cults that don't worship in the open that do believe in and worship Satan. These you won't get a head count of, and none of them will ever claim to be Satanists. They are more into witchcraft and animal sacrifices.

‘Gravely Serious Situation’: KC Archbishop Discovers Parishes Using Wine With Additives, Warns ‘All Masses Invalid’ for Several Years at Multiple…

If, the wine was invalid, then the whole Mass, I imagine would be invalid. I would imagine that this will fall under the same situation as if no wine was consecrated at the Mass.

‘Gravely Serious Situation’: KC Archbishop Discovers Parishes Using Wine With Additives, Warns ‘All Masses Invalid’ for Several Years at Multiple…

I would think that as long as the wine that was being used was from grapes, then at worst it would be illicit but not invalid. That would be a huge difference IMO in how to look at this. For example in Roman Rite, it would be illicit to use leaven bread, but it would not make the Mass invalid...
