  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Enoch

I agree. I definitely have value. I myself couldn't see why it should be a part of the canon but I wouldn't call it heretic and I definitely think it's inspiring like many apostles did.

    Enoch

The books of Enoch was accepted by both Jews and Christians. Church fathers such as Justin Martyr even Athenagoras thought Enoch was a true prophet and Tertullian even called it “Holy scripture”. Perhaps the Books of Enoch simply isn't a part of the canon because it wasn't...

    Enoch

Yes I read that already. I find it vague and written in anger by someone who clearly hasn't done his research properly. It's known fact that this book was written a long time before the Bible and therefore cannot have copied anything from it.

    Enoch

Jesus did quote Enoch. There are many places in the Bible where Jesus share phrases from Enoch. The Book of Enoch was accepted by the Christians of the first century... Maybe the books are more holy than what we think.
