  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Arvo Pärt

A good friend of mine made me discover this amazing estonian composer. I'm usually more into alternative music, but as time goes on, I'm becoming more and more interested by classical and traditional stuff. I also find it very interesting that he's a convert to Orthodox Christianity, I'm also...

When did you start to consider yourselves christians ?

Yeah. I think some life change are implied for any convert to Christianity. But I'm not sure that the "born again narrative" works for everyone. For me it seems more to be a process. The stories of Sasha and Paisios feel more close to what I'm feeling. But thanks anyway all of you for your answers !

    Funeral Songs?

Arvo Part's Salve Regina, for sure, I love this composer. I also really love the music for the funeral of queen Mary by Purcell. But if I had to go for something more alternative, probably some neofolk like Death in june or Current 93.

When did you start to consider yourselves christians ?

Yeah I know I won't find any "official rule", it's more that I was curious to hear about different stories and experiences.

Hello there, and sorry in advance, if I'm not in the good forum. I have a question, that may seem silly, but occur often in my mind. This is especially adressed to people who converted to christianity from an agnostic/atheist background or another religion. When did you start to really consider...

    Thriving for inner peace

Hello there, I'm new on this forum, I will try to sum up my situation the best I can. I'm from Brussels, Belgium. I've grown up in an atheist and rather liberal family. I love my parents with all my heart, but I've quickly realized when I was quiet young that I was agnostic, or even deist...
