  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Should a Christian play "Devil's Advocate"?

I didn't address this topic because I honestly don't know. Some people who are of a different faith say our Gifts of the Holy Spirit are of the devil, though we know they are not. I think it is the intent of the heart that comes into play. I think of it as one playing Defense and one playing...

Is "water witching" superstition or science?

It is not fear that motivates us to avoid and not practice such things. It is our relationship with God. Our reverence for HIM. Why is a thread such as this one used to judge those who believe this practice is a form of divination and refuse to do it? If you see a sign that says DANGER do you...

Is "water witching" superstition or science?

I believe there are two very important descriptions that reveal the root or origin of this practice and they aren't good. divining and witch, witching.

Who decides which part of nature are evil?

Thank you for your post. I believe plants were created for many wonderful uses. Not only for food and spices but also to aid in ridding us of viruses and fungi which attack our bodies. Some essential oils such as tea tree, borage, Lavender, are natural anti-fungal in nature. They are used in...

Is "water witching" superstition or science?

I don't believe there is any serious Christian who sees the Devil as you described him in your post. He is real and will use any crack in a Christian's armor to gain a foothold in our lives. Once he has a foothold he then creates a stronghold in our lives.

Who decides which part of nature are evil?

God answered you through His Holy Word. It is up to each of us whether we apply the Word to our lives or reject it.

Who decides which part of nature are evil?

We have to tell the Truth. G-d condemned those practices, and forbids us to do them.

Who decides which part of nature are evil?

Wicca is witchcraft. Crystals and stones are used by Wiccans. Nowhere in scripture are we told to use them as a source of healing. It is the spirit of witchcraft and divination, and also a form of idolatry. Revelation 21: 5-8 5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things...

Revelation 21: 5-8 5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain...

The use of stones and crystals has it's root in witchcraft and is also used in wicca which is also a form of divination and witchcraft. G-d told us not to practice such things. He gave us doctors to aid in the healing and recovery from illness. Drugs have a good use and the knowledge of them is...
