  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Is masturbation a sin?

I think this book is harmful, not helpful in overcoming sexual temptation. I haven't read it, just excerpts from it. I know that women are usually offended by it, even with the answers it offers. I'm sure there is much in it that is good and accurate. Let me review the quote. . I don't know...

Is masturbation for health reasons a sin???

People have assumed that since they had a down feeling afterwards that this was God's way of scolding them; not at all true. First of all, [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] is a great natural high and when one comes down from a high it doesn't feel good. Second, we actually want a partner and don't have one, so we feel...

Is masturbation for health reasons a sin???

Michael seems to equate the "flesh" with "the body" or pleasures of the body, whereas the word "flesh" is best understood to mean "sinful nature". The only way then to know what "desires of the flesh" means is to know what is sinful and what is not. Leviticus 18 is the best way I know to discern...

    Is masturbation a sin?

People that have a substance or process addiction are a small percentage of society and will have characteristics that mark them as addicts or being prone to addiction, for example, childhood emotional trauma. By contrast, masturbation among humans, esp. males is entirely predictable for about...

    Is masturbation a sin?

True, in the sense that we are not to be ruled by our body, so we decide when and whether we want to touch; we aren't to be compulsive about it. Irrelevant. Most of our day is comprised of neutral activities, neither holy nor unholy. Since masturbation is a beneficial activity that begins...

    Is masturbation a sin?

Have you tried posting on Christian dating forums for like minded Christian females who don't desire a family? Are you opposed to marrying a woman who has a child? How did you get the idea that you should be able to do the baby-making act with a lady, then deny her the right to have a baby...

    Fearful thoughts about rape

Often women from religious households who are taught that expressing sexual desire before marriage is wrong will have fantasy thoughts about rape, even of themselves being "ravished". Since they are the "victim" of the mystery man's sexual desire, they don't have to feel guilty for the sex being...

Is masturbation for health reasons a sin???

Start by quoting me accurately. "nearly all males do it". Any survey you read will document that. We don't know the personal habits of Jesus , but assuming He was celibate and called by God to celibacy, then he had the gift of celibacy (1 Cor.7:5-9) which causes a person to have low...

Is masturbation for health reasons a sin???

As I read the definitions you have written, I see a description of lewd public conduct. Obviously, definition 2, "exciting sexual desire" could describe the interaction between a husband and wife, which in privacy is legitimate, but if done in public, it is "lascivious" or "lewd conduct". Sexual...

Is masturbation for health reasons a sin???

In answer to the Original Question: No, masturbation isn't a sin and never has been. Do it in private when you feel the need. There is some unsatisfactory feelings that sometimes follow your [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse], this is normal as well, having natural causes, nothing to do with God's feelings toward you. He...

Conviction of Sin in Salvation can you help me?

It could be said that Mr. Owens may have over-emphasized or dramatized this truth. The most important thing is that you have "conviction" and assurance that you have been born again, not what you did or didn't feel prior to conversion. Some people, when saved at a young age, aren't much aware...

    Is masterbating considered a sin?

Actually, 1 Cor. 7:2 and 7:9 have often been misunderstood in this way due to poor translations and poor exposition. Verse 2-5 is spoken to already-married-couples. Some couples were "not touching a woman" because it was supposedly more holy not to have sex. Paul contradicts that false belief...

    Is masterbating considered a sin?

I just stated what is fairly well known already; if you question if it is true, you can post links that tell us how God made sex so it is unhealthy. It is always good to do our own research.
