  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Should I sign?

Hi Tropical Winds. Thank you for sharing your story. I know that whatever our sayings and convictions are today, tomorrow, when circumstances change, our convictions can change with it. But if we really study and pray about our convictions today, then could that cement our convictions for...

    Should I sign?

Hi Zoolander. Thank you for you well thought and polite reply. You're accurate on some fronts. I do want her back. I am weighing which options are the best for us to get back together. But I didn't say I wouldn't contest the divorce out of demeaning her or not taking her seriously. Our...

    Should I sign?

Hi. Thanks for the very clear, concise question. Yes, I do not think abuse justifies divorce. I don't even think adultery justifies divorce. I believe in the permanency of marriage. I know there are several views on marriage... 1 - divorce is ok for adultery or abandonment by the...

    Should I sign?

Hi. Thank you for your reply. I have been seeking therapy... private counselor and two weekly support groups. I have been working on myself and will continue to do so. We all come into marriages with issues. Who's really fit to be married? Especially men, who are normally emotionally stunted...

    Should I sign?

Not signing isn't about changing the outcome or not, but endorsing something which I believe is wrong. Let's say your daughter wants an abortion. You know she's going to do it whether or not you support her. She may have gotten pregnant because her parents were so neglectful that she ran away...

    Should I sign?

From the Greek and Hebrew. We both felt we were called to do Bible translation for life to peoples without the scriptures and so we studied the original languages.

    Should I sign?

No. I wouldn't say that's my biggest fear. I don't think she will and I honestly am not saying that out of sheer denial of this situation. She has the most conservative view on marriage and even told me that she'll forgive me if I commit adultery. She was wanting to be single for life to serve...

    Should I sign?

Hi Valleygirl. I thank you for well thought out, kind, and compassionate reply. Of course, I want reconciliation with my wife. And, right now, am committing to not marrying ever again if there is no adultery on either side. I do not want to be single for the rest of my life. Although you talk...

    Should I sign?

Hey everyone. My wife has just emailed me the marital settlement agreement, which comes before the divorce papers (I believe). There's a line in it that states, "WHEREAS, we were married on xxx date in xx place, and we now mutually desire to dissolve our marriage and mutually agree to live...

    Should I sign?

The child doesn't have to be a little kid. The child can be a grown up. I was just trying to describe the heart of a parent to a child. After the child grows up, you are then peers. After having grown up, your child disowns you... I think you get the picture.

    Should I sign?

I've been praying and I am leaning towards signing it. It's her choice. It's up to her to send the papers, to then send it to the courts, and then to finalize it. We won't go too much into the theological debate as we can debate about it all day, but I am appealing to you from an...

    Should I sign?

You said: "One of the most misguided, misused Scriptures. God doesn't hate divorce. He hates that a man seperates from his wife and doesn't give her the divorce papers. There are 2 specific and different words in both the Hebrew and Greek (for Old and New Testaments) that speak to each...

    Should I sign?

Ok. Tropical Wilds. I think your thoughts are most similar to my wife's at this moment. If you were in my shoes, what would you do if you wanted to restore the marriage? We can discuss if divorce should happen or not, etc... but let's say you wanted to restore the marriage. I know that your...

    Should I sign?

I'm ok with separation. If she says she wants a 3 year separation or even an indefinite separation and asks me to not contact her unless she contacts me first, I'll be ok with it and will fully support it. But divorce? My gut feels uneasy even though I'm fully taking responsibility for my...

    Should I sign?

I am not sitting by passively. I've read dozens of books on abuse, empathy, childhood wounds, deliverance, divorce/remarriage, etc. I am in weekly counseling as well as two weekly support groups. One is for abusers and the other is about keeping our covenant to our spouse. I've confessed...
