  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Lot's Wife

Regardless of what Lot did, the angels would always be protected. Lot didn't have to try and protect the angels.

    Lot's Wife

Yes, the reason it was destroyed is different than whether or not there were sodomists. Genesis 18:32 Genesis 13:13 Genesis 18:20 etc...

    Lot's Wife

2 Peter 2:8 Lot was considered a righteous man. 1) just, lawful, righteous a) just, righteous (in government) b) just, right (in one's cause) c) just, righteous (in conduct and character) d) righteous (as justified and vindicated by God) e) right, correct, lawful...

    Lot's Wife

The Bible said men. Obviously the sodomists didn't have a clue until the "men" blinded them. Nope, none of the angels had sex.

Why did they want to have sex with the men that entered Lot's house?

    Why Should I Obey God?

I don't think they would stone the damsel if she resisted. If she can't cry out she can still resist. The man who comes in during the rape can also be a witness as to whether she resisted or not.

    Why Should I Obey God?

It doesn't sound like the woman resisted. Does this constitute rape? No, it's not moral. I agree with the consequences though. "he may not put her away all his days." He isn't punished by man for his sin, but he is going to face his maker some day on judgement day. Don't know who Fred...

    Lot's Wife

Is Lot's wife supposed to care about the welfare of rapists and sodomists who are being judged by God? I don't think she necessarily sinned because God told her that if she looked back she would turn into a pillar of salt. She made the choice.

    Lot's Wife

AnEmpiricalAgnostic's version of the story is different than the Bible's. The thing I would agree on is that lot's two dautghers and himself are sinful.

    Why Should I Obey God?

He didn't come around. Why prove it? Saying He had to make them up is like saying He had to make himself up. Don't forget the conditions. I take it the victim didn't cry out (resist). Read the verses concerning rape. How do you know is rape if the victim doesn't resist, both parties are...

    Why Should I Obey God?

Why? I explained that I think men always become pagen turning to humanism. Sorry, can't comment here because I don't know much of Roman history. My guess is God wasn't on their side. There is a seperation between true Christians and self-proclaimed Christians. The Bible says blessed are the...
