  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Trump signs Religious liberty executive order

From James Madison: (emphasis mine) (Letter to Robert Walsh, Mar. 2, 1819) and (Annals of Congress, Sat Aug 15th, 1789 page 758) Many of Madison's writings made it abundantly clear that when he referred to a separation of church and state, it clearly intended "...church from the State."

Trump signs Religious liberty executive order

This Executive Order was supposed to work against the Johnson Amendment of 1954. It is, however, not too unlike attacking a battle cruiser with a BB gun: One might think it reasonable to assume that no damage will come of it, but that's true only as long as someone doesn't shoot his/her eye out

[FORUM CLOSED]Non-Christians: Read and Agree before Posting

I acknowledge that I have read the Statement of Purpose for the Christian Apologetics forum and agree to follow the guidelines, as well as the sitewide rules.

    Best of NCR

A discussion I had with CatherineAnne. :) Some years ago, I had written an essay on the viability of Christian-Wicca. She picked it apart, voiced her disagreement with portions of it, and all with perfect civility, poise, and grace. I could not have asked for a more fair or lovely opponent...

6/22-7/6-Forum Meeting to Discuss the Purpose of NCR

This may be true, but I don't believe this is what Zoot was saying. He said: This has nothing to do with promotion or proselytizing. He may have a point; if a Christian cannot contribute productively, for what reason should they be allowed to post at NCR? Kind regards -- Druweid

6/22-7/6-Forum Meeting to Discuss the Purpose of NCR

That may be true. Perhaps we can discuss that further on another thread one day. I do not oppose that, though I would point out that it has been mentioned (earlier in the thread) that there has been perceived inconsistencies from moderator-to-moderator even when they are all Christian. If this...

6/22-7/6-Forum Meeting to Discuss the Purpose of NCR

I agree that there is a time and place for all things, but I do not agree that NCR should be the place for battle, per se'. No one should be on the attack, nor should anyone fear another being on the attack. Nor would I ask you to do such a thing. But you do have a choice as to how you present...

6/22-7/6-Forum Meeting to Discuss the Purpose of NCR

This, I believe, is a good example of how NCR should NOT be approached. Entering any discussion with the expectation or mind-set that it is "spiritual warfare" is entirely counter-productive. Kind regards, -- Druweid

6/22-7/6-Forum Meeting to Discuss the Purpose of NCR

Oh, I certainly agree. But if there are people who believe that having an NCR forum is counter-productive to the scope and purpose of CF as a whole, I worry that the administration will choose a nose-spite-face solution. But this is why I initially suggested approaching NCR from a...

6/22-7/6-Forum Meeting to Discuss the Purpose of NCR

Actually, some years ago, when I was far more active on this forum, I do recall at least three different people who changed their icons from a Christian faith to a non-Christian faith. Granted, people aren't leaving their faith in droves, but there are those on this forum who would say even one...

6/22-7/6-Forum Meeting to Discuss the Purpose of NCR

Why are Christian women kept out of the Man's Corner? Why are Christian singles kept out of Marriage Ministry? Why are Christian adults kept out of Teen Area? Obviously, it has nothing to do with being a Christian OR this being a Christian site. It has everything to do with a) creating a group...

6/22-7/6-Forum Meeting to Discuss the Purpose of NCR

So you want to reconsider the purpose and direction of the NCR sub-forum? Allow me to suggest a unique direction (well, I presume unique, I haven't read the entire thread, it's growing so fast). How about treating or approaching NCR as a microcosm of the real world? Much that occurs on this...

    Ask the pagan

They taste like chicken. ;) Caitlin-ann, I'm sorry I haven't yet touched base with you, personally. It's so good seeing you again, and I hope all is well with you and yours! Brightest blessings, -- Druweid

    Ask the pagan

It's as likely that your sons relate to the Norse pantheon as they find it easier to relate to 'ancestors,' or feel some other sub-conscious connection. As you say, though, there may be no clear answers, just thoughts. :) A Truth is a truth, no matter who says it. And I believe it's true...
