CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am studying theology at college, hoping to study Honours next year. My favourite areas of study are historical and systematic theology. I am deeply interested in ethical systems and the way that faith can address social problems and issues. I also have an interest in biblical studies (particularly hebrew) but I haven't been able to give much time to it. I like to think about the relevance of ancient Hebrew faith to 21st century faith.
I find the best description of my theological journey at the moment is "post-conservative". In the context of my denomination I could be seen as progressive. My theological heritage comes from a conservative church but I am finding more and more that I am dissatisfied with the arguments and agendas of "modern" Christianity - both coservative and liberal. As a member of the post-modern age I am searching for a different expression of my faith that is not held up in the trappings of modernism. Where this is leading I do not know - I leave it in
