  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Cardinal Rigali Urges Support for 'Pregnant Women Support Act '

Yay, more women's entitlement programs that violate equal protection of the law. Let's break this up: Pregnancy is a pre-exisiting condition, this would be absolutely no different that making a law that said it's fine to go out and get car insurance after you've had an accident and your...

Ron Howard slams William Donohue's "silly and mean spirited work of propaganda"

Sounds like Ron Howard is worried if it gets too much negative attention from religious groups it'll go the way of the Golden Compass.

    Marriage in the Public Eye

Civil marriage existed in the Roman empire for the nobility. There was no civil marriage for the common people.

California Man 'Adopts' Wife's Two Aborted Children

For goodness sake, does no one have a sense of shame any more? If she were so sorry about the abortions I tend to doubt she'd want them in the national spotlight. Sounds more like people that want their 15 minutes of fame for doing something off the wall, like adopting dead kids that were...

    Marriage in the Public Eye

I mean that a man can work for years and have the lion's share of it stolen away through no real fault of his own. On top of that he'd be looking at hefty child support, and possibly alimony payments, every month, often leaving him in poverty. At the very least, no where near the standard of...

    Marriage in the Public Eye

Marraige for men is a bum deal, until family law under goes radical reform you can expect to see the number of cohabitating couples go through the roof.

    Recommended new tax: divorce tax.

An excessive tax might not be the way to go, but the bottom line is this: one gender is primarily the filing party in divorces. Family courts are set up to favor that gender and because of that divorce usually creates a finanical windfall in all the cases that it can. In some cases there just...

    Recommended new tax: divorce tax.

Actually, Sanford Braver's work on the subject shows divorced people of both sexes come out of divorce on about the same standard of living. That is the average guideline, it is not reflective of the average child support payment, family courts are free to do whatever they want. Not to...

    Divorced and Child Support

Ahh yes, you are your child's servant. Work 100 hours a week, or until the stress and lack of rest kills you, but pay, pay, pay. Least the slavers have to come and arrest you for not working yourself to an early grave. Actually the feminist study conducted by Lenore Weitzman was throughly...

    Divorced and Child Support

I worked in law enforcement for 27 years and hated it, but I did it for my girls. My ex-wife never put in a day of labor on their behalf. I also paid for both of them to go college out of pocket, but that's my choice. I won't even go into the legal fees it cost me to win custody over my idiot...

    Divorced and Child Support

As for the OP, there really isn't much you can do about it. I tend to think a huge reason why women are so prone to divorce (and women file for the vast majority of divorces) is because they believe (often correctly) that family courts will give them the lion's share of the marital assets and...

    Divorced and Child Support

You know women are far more likely to default on their "child support" than men are per capita.

    Pope Move Ignites Holocaust Row

So belief in the mainstream version of the holocaust is now equal with dogma? That's interesting, so he can't have some wild opinion on the holocaust, but could he view other historical events in decidely non-mainstream light and still be a bishop? Say he doesn't believe William Shakespeare...

    Pope Move Ignites Holocaust Row

Who "despises" them for it? Get real, every politician on the face of the earth that does any business with Turkey pushes the whole thing under the rug and that's not changing any time soon. The only reason Turkey can't get into the EU is because it would create waves of immigration that...

    Pope Move Ignites Holocaust Row

If the Bishop had said he agreed with the Turks and that the Armenian genocide never took place this thread wouldn't be here. It's pretty politically correct to take that position, or just ignore the subject altogether. Why should the holocaust be a sacred cow?
