  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    How old is the earth?

Fair enough, I guess macroevolution is used sometimes, but it is a widely unpopular term. The only significant event in evolution is speciation. Apart from this, there's no real way of separating micro from macro because macroevolution is simply many instances of microevolution.

    How old is the earth?

Firstly, marcoevolution isn't a scientific term - it's only used by creationists. Also, macroevolution is simply many microevolutions over a vast amount of time. Secondly, there is overwhelming evidence supporting universal common descent. Endogenous retroviruses, fusion of human chromosome #2...

    Math Logic Disproves Evoution

Beneficial traits can come in the form of being faster to avoid predators, being better camouflaged, immunity to diseases, more attractive to the opposite sex etc., therefore carriers of these traits are more likely to survive and reproduce. Carriers pass them on to the next generation. Those...

    How old is the earth?

The Earth is about 4,540,000,000 years old according to radiometric dating and cosmology.

    Evolution vs Creationism

Was this poor attempt at being funny or just a display of ignorance? (I think both.) "Survival of the fittest" is not an accurate description of natural selection. It's more like survival of those best adapted to their environment. I don't really know what your getting at here. Why is a God...

    Evolution vs Creationism

Firstly, not only are there hundreds of fossils (ALL consistent with the theory of evolution), even if we had no fossils, there is still overwhelming evidence for evolution. For example, endogenous retroviruses and DNA evidence. Also search DonExodus2 on YouTube. He has great videos about...

    Math Logic Disproves Evoution

A common argument made by creationists is something along the lines of "dogs always produce dogs", whereas evolution predicts exactly that. They think that evolution demands that animals produce different "kinds". (although the word "kind" as a biological class never been sufficiently defined)...

How many different species were on Noah's Ark

If the variation we see among each "kind" has only happened in 4,000 years, that would be super-evolution. The mutation rates would have to be FAR higher than they are.

How many different species were on Noah's Ark

But what does "kind" mean? Genus? Family? Are dingos, coyotes and wolves the same kind? Horses, donkeys and zebras? How hard is it to retrieve and maintain all these thousands of animals?

How many different species were on Noah's Ark

Can someone define what they mean by "kind"? Are chimpanzees and gorillas the same kind? What about wolves, dogs, dingos and coyotes?

    transitional fossils (moved)

Finding fossils is not as easy as it seems. There may be millions of fossils out there, but the Earth's crust is too vast. However, evolution can predict where a fossil may be e.g. tiktaalik, a transitional form with fins/limbs was predicted to be found somewhere in northern Canada. Also, even...
