    I'm with the "violence begets violence" thing here. My parents never physically disiplined me. I am against hitting children, reguardless of age. It seems like it would create a barrier between the parent and child, more so than if the parent took away privilages for a period of time.

    I would say so. We know what it is, why it is, why and how it does what it does, and it's various properties (color, pH, ect.) The other things are just chalked up to opinion (the taste, the "feel". the experience, etc).
