  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Ecclisiastic Authority?

We don't know the pastor do we? We don't know the whole story period. I think the whole thing should never have been posted. Seems that what we have here is a failure to communicate, between husband, wife, and son. I don't believe that all pastors are perfect, and I sure don't believe that...

    Ecclisiastic Authority?

The 8th Commandment and meaning part 2 Thus we have now the sum and general understanding of this commandment, to wit, that no one do any injury with the tongue to his neighbor, whether friend or foe, nor speak evil of him, no matter whether it be true or...

    Ecclisiastic Authority?

This is what Lutheran Believe, teach, and confess. Its meaning can be used today, just as it was when Luther wrote. The Eighth Commandment. Part One! Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Over and above our own body, spouse, and temporal...

    Ecclisiastic Authority?

But it's not really my place to pry. If you are asking for advice then unless there is some breach of ethics or ministerial malpractice by the pastor involved, I would advise you to meet with your pastor. If there are serious problems with your pastor, then you should definitely be meeting with...

    Ecclisiastic Authority?

Sorry I disagree. We don't even have the full story here at all, and we are already judging the Pastor. I think your walking on very thin ice here, and surely one that meets within the confines of the 8th commandment, and what does this mean. My 2 cents

    So much anger

I wonder if you have ever sat down with your father and discussed your feelings with him? It seems your a man who doesn't express his thoughts, feelings, or emotions. Your father may not know how you feel. There is no doubt that your father loves you, some times communications break down in...

Hi, I would like all of my Confessional Lutheran friends to check out this thread:

It would seem the discussion was cut off before it was even started. My, My, maybe there are some here that need additional understanding. Seems to be the case on a lot of these discussions. Some one thinks they have all of the answers, post a one for all statement, and its shut down. Yep, I...

    Gay communicants

Quote: More than likely Bob and Tom wouldn't be making the move with their ELCA church. They would probably find another ELCA church to attend and barring that, an Episcopalian or Methodist church. They would probably simply go where homosexuality is accepted. The Methodist Church doesn't...

    Gay communicants

Cos: May I say if a member of the ELCA and/or its Congregation want to leave because of the false teachings and gay acceptance practice to join another Lutheran Church body or the LC MC; why would a gay person even want to leave the ELCA? A.) He or she already knows that the LCMS, Wels, and...

    I don't fit in ELCa---where do I fit?

Hi Jim: Lets be clear that your not alone in your feelings, your beliefs, and concerns. Believe me, I understand, as well as many other members within the ELCA. I'm up in the air also, confused, shock, and concerned. However, you have to remember that the revisionist, in the ELCA, have had...

    10 Commandments

 What is met by Justification? What does it mean when we say, we are both saint and sinner? Does this mean that we as a Christian can do as we please? What is the Third use of the Law? I understand that the Third use wasn't used by Luther, or that he approved of it. How are we to use...
