  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Questions about Iraq and Afghanistan.

Cooch, I'm withdrawing the reply I had previously posted because it's pretty obvious by the tone of your reply that you're looking for a argument....or debate. I am not. I didn't say anything about pulling the troops out. I am not for that as you have wrongly assumed. I do however...

    Questions about Iraq and Afghanistan.

The people of Iraq don't even know what this is like. Iraq has lost more folks due to war in the past 30 years than the United States has lost in it's history... Now realize that Iraq is only the size of Idaho. So I must ask...whose standards will we use to measure this level of...

The Military as a Christian's career option: Need advice!

No big deal here. I'm guilty of "forum sniping" as well...short posts, that leave a lot to the imagination...LOL.

The Military as a Christian's career option: Need advice!

I have one more thing to contribute.... Thomas W. Bennett and Desmond Doss both served in the military, as non-combatants under consciensious objector status. Another thing they both have in common is that they were both awarded the Medal Of Honor. I do beleive it is possible to serve...

The Military as a Christian's career option: Need advice!

Hang on now....if that's how you interpreted my post, then you interpreted wrong, as your post does not reflect my opinions, nor my intent. Granted, I may have been vague as I do tend to be, but you filled in the blanks with suspiscion and doubt. You do not know me well enough to even begin to...

Church - Is it THAT important? Slight Rant.

I believe it is important, as I have felt my faith weaken while away from the church. Aside from fellowship...we serve God in the form of ministries, and worship.

The Military as a Christian's career option: Need advice!

The Marines Corps does not have Chaplians, Chaplian's Assisstants, or Religous Planners. The Chaplians assigned to the Fleet Marine Forces are Navy Officers, and the RP's are Navy Enlisted.

If people read the bible there would be no denominations

I'm a Christian. I don't put to much weight into denominations either. It pains me to see folks struggle with others over details.

The Military as a Christian's career option: Need advice!

Thou shalt not kill. Does that mean I cannot fend off a murderer who enters my home and attempts to kill me or my family? If not, then what about defensive military operations? What about a minor offenseive in support of a large defensive? LOL. To the original poster...ask God...

    Questions about Iraq and Afghanistan.

From what I saw when they addressed their country upon their return...they didn't have much choice....surrender, or be killed in a blood bath. Killing the Iranians and cruising smoothly home wasn't an option....surrendering and hoping for clemency was a much better option.

    Base tags help

Never heard of a DOD decal not sticking, and I can certainly see why they want them "stuck" to the vehicle. Sorry I cannot be of help.

    Questions about Iraq and Afghanistan.

"wasted troops" I know what you mean, but that seems a poor choice of words. I've lost friends over there, and I do not consider their lives wasted.

ABC Nightline debate over the existence of God

Really? I thought Kurt made light of that whole ordeal...I guess he was kind of making a mockery of it....but I thought he genuinely intended it to be funny. I'm not calling anyone bad. LOL.

ABC Nightline debate over the existence of God

Yes, I recall the part you paraphrased well. I personally thought the rebuttal by the atheists was weak. I suppose that's my one sided approach to the issue though...as the crowd sure didn't seem to share my thoughts. As for the point of the debate...I reckon I just don't get it. If it could...
