• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
• We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How and why did Sunday replace the seventh-day sabbath?

1) Paul isn't talking about the seventh-day Sabbath in Col. 2:16 -- see A Study on Col. 2:16-17 for details. 2) The verses only make sense if the believers at Colossae _were_ keeping the days that are mentioned and were eating and drinking on those days and were being judged by outsiders for...

How and why did Sunday replace the seventh-day sabbath?

This is the kind of thing where one should consult someone who is an expert in Greek. I asked Dr. Shepherd about this and he said: "While it is true that the tense of the verb “to be” eimi and “to dawn” epifosko are both in the imperfect tense, the question is really...

41 whoppers about Ellen White

54. "This is where early Advent and JW theology merged, not only here but in many ways, including co-authoring books of false doctrines. The title of _the_ book was "Plan of Redemption, Nelson Barbour and Charles T. Russell ... and Barbour was a Millerite who went through the 1844 failure with...

How and why did Sunday replace the seventh-day sabbath?

Tis quite so: "the Jews counted parts of a day as a full day. In the Jewish tract Schabbath, we find a discussion about the length of three days. "But how much is the space of an Onah? Rabbi Jochanan says either a day or a night." In the Jerusalem Talmud we read, "Rabbi Akiba fixed a day...

You are looking at pre-fall, he is looking at post-fall.

How and why did Sunday replace the seventh-day sabbath?

You have a serious reading problem. It simply says that "it was the preparation day"--it doesn't say that it began then. The preparation day (our Friday) always comes before the Sabbath--the two do NOT occur on the same day. And the preparation day is NEVER a Sabbath.

Why should Gentiles seek to celebrate Judaic Festivals?

Huh?!? Where'd you get that idea from? Christ's death is the atonement of our sins (cheirographon). The law remains to point out what is sin, where exactly we have sinned and our need of a Saviour and who that Savior is. That intrepretation doesn't make sense to me...

Why should Gentiles seek to celebrate Judaic Festivals?

Circumcision wasn't a ceremonial law. It was given to Abraham. The Sabbath is a moral law, part of the Ten Commandments written by God on tables of stone, based on the principle of love, placed inside the Ark and covered by the mercy seat--it was also created at creation, before sin. The...

Why should Gentiles seek to celebrate Judaic Festivals?

What was nailed to the cross (cheirographon) was the record of our debt, because we broke the law and sinned. The "sabbaths" of Col. 2;16 refers to the day of Atonement and the blowing of trumpets (ceremonial sabbaths which weren't feast days (heorte, mistranslated in the KJV as...

We were created good (Gen. 1:31), but then we chose to sin Gen. 3).
