  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Unfortunately, you 're still not getting it. God is love (1 John 4:8), and love itself is triadic. God is the "Lover," God is the "Beloved," and God is the "Love" that unites the "Lover" and the "Beloved" as One.

Thanks. God is communitarian, social, and relational. Also, keep in mind that the New Testament holds that "love" is God's defining attribute. "God is love." 1 John 4:8

It is something to accept, not to analyze.

That's an interesting take. Neoplatonism had a strong influence on early Christianity.

    Closing the Canon?

Agreed. I see no reason why revelation should not be progressive. A living tradition is only alive if it is growing and changing. Our conception of God should be evolving even as our collective consciousness is evolving.

The Trinity is actually fairly simple. God is love and love itself is a triadic relationship. The Lover and the Beloved are united in Love as one being. Each one mutually entails the other.

Okay. Just wanted clarity. So, what exactly are these "purging fires?" Something akin to the Catholic purgatory?

I've read one of his books. I do not recommend his teachings.

    Helping Trinitarians understand John 5:18.

Okay. So, if you believe that the Son was created in eternity by the Father, then you are really not saying anything different than traditional Christianity. Whether we say "eternally begotten" or "eternally created" is simply a matter of semantics. The meaning is the same. The Son is co-eternal...

I have explained it. Unfortunately, my explanation did not meet with your approval.

    Helping Trinitarians understand John 5:18.

There are two definitions of "eternity" - one is everlasting in time, the other is timelessness, nontemporal, or outside of time. Traditional Christian theology holds that God is eternal in the latter sense (i.e. outside of time or the "ever-present now"). So, the concept of "eternally begotten"...

Your signature states: "Yehoshua in his pre-human existence was Yeheveh's highest creation that is before the creation (including all angels) that came through him from Yeheveh." Do you believe that the Son was created by God in eternity? Yes or no?

    Are you a "universalist?"

To "beget" is "to procreate." So, the Son is the eternal procreation of the Father. That's what it means to me.
