How Free Will Turns the Gospel into Law and Grace into Works.

Halbhh: “It can be confusing to use the word 'law' without saying which law you mean, since Paul uses it 2 very different ways, (see for instance Bible Gateway passage: Galatians 6 - New International Version for a way different than in the early chapters of Romans)” That’s a very good point...

How Free Will Turns the Gospel into Law and Grace into Works.

Bling: “I realize you believe in free will and I did read 309, but you like most who belief in free will, cannot give any possible way for God to know the “future” perfectly and man to be able to choose otherwise. It is all left to some “mysterious way” only God could figure out. That is not a...

How Free Will Turns the Gospel into Law and Grace into Works.

Dave, in your opening post you said: “In the Old Testament, God held Israel responsible for keeping the Ten Commandments based on free will. But a problem develops when we try to import free will and law into the New Covenant. God did away with law and free will has no place. So if we keep free...

How Free Will Turns the Gospel into Law and Grace into Works.

Doug, how is foreknown any different than foresaw? If God foreknew someone then He certainly foresaw them and if He foresaw them He certainly foreknew them. He knows the end from the beginning, right?

How Free Will Turns the Gospel into Law and Grace into Works.

Rom 8:28-30 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many...

How Free Will Turns the Gospel into Law and Grace into Works.

    Love God...

I think if we love God then we will do what He wants and not what we want. But therein lies the paradox, if we truly love Him we will be doing what He wants. That is if we are being led by the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit leads us to obey God’s commands.

Anathema to Sabbath-keepers - Council of Laodicea

Ex 20:9-11 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath of the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. 11 For in six days the Lord...

    What “is” a radio signal-?

We know that stones can roll and gather together. However, that is simply the action that the law of mathematics would describe. Once again you are equating a different concept; the law of nature, with mathematics. Mathematics is the abstract conceptual way in which we describe the laws of...

You are equating the laws of mechanics now with mathematics. Mathematics is the abstract conceptual way to describe the laws of mechanics.

    What “is” a radio signal-?

Without anyone calculating there is no math. Remember that it is conceptual and abstract. Why would you believe that the universe which changes could produce something that is exception-less and invariant?

    What “is” a radio signal-?

The case was made that a mind is necessary for mathematics. Since it was around before humans, where or from Whom do you suppose it originated from? Or are you a) disagreeing that it is a construct of the mind or b) was created by humans? If the answer to b is yes then you must assume nothing...

    What “is” a radio signal-?

Actually what seems clear is that you don't wish to put forth anything to contradict my points. Why do you believe it is a fallacy?
