  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Diciple

I moved from Ulster to Kendal in the beautiful Lake District in Nov 2004. My Mother aged 87 died and there was a long list of problems if I was to remain in Ulster. Most important was falling in love with the area earlier in 2004 on a holiday which took in the beautiful National Trust property, Chatsworth House. Coming to England I joined the N.T. and visited all the historic properties in the area, wonderfull. So much more happening in England. I love Kendal for its museums and art galleries. Most important of all is my faith. I joined Parr St. Evangelical Church and its great. It is so good to be going twice a month to their very excellent house group. Our pastor is Brian Maiden and his brother is the distinguished Peter Maiden of Keswick Convention fame. I want my main message in life to be, "if I can help somebody, then my living will not be in vein."

Bible Study, reading, T.V., writing, tapesponding and computing.
