  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Isiah 45:7 - God created evil

Hey Guys. Can I interject? First of all, I just wanted to see if we all agree on some basics: 1. We have a choice to make. We are involved in our own salvation, at least to that degree. 2. What has been intended for evil is completely under God's sovereignty, and can be used for good...

    How to resist temptation

I think good old fashioned resistance is a good way to go. Just simply fight the urge, fight it hard, and wait for it to subside. I think there's a point that comes when we move past it, and the wave of whatever passes away; whether we forget, or the hunger stops clawing, or we simply...

    spiritual vs religious

Neat thought. To control the uncontrollable. I wonder where imposing religious rules, and letting man make mistakes and fail/grow thereby balance out.

    question

Hi FoundInGrace. It sounds like you're skirting around depression, and exhaustion. I've been through the very same thing. The things that've helped me with them are: 1. A light anti-depressant. Some people think that Christians can't get depressed if they're living in obedience, but I...
